  1. I never recommend doing 360s in a Subaru on dry pavement this will cause wind up no matter what and can do damage its awd like drive your full size truck with hubs locked in still a 4x4 sharp turns don't do it on dry roads. Check tire press and size
  2. Did you use the venting stuff from back of car ? on 98 they ran power and signal to rear of car for gas tank venting control must be in wire harness or defaults was 4 or six wires to rear of car fuel temp senser / vent valve / vacume signal senser
  3. Have 20 heads for that engine sounds like valve clearance was not set right if valve cover says twin cam on it hydro lifters if not no hydro buckets.
  4. old subarus do not like leds mess with the stop lamp indicator check box thingy
  5. Band takes 25 min to change and same for forward clutch pack parts 150 $ is very first part in trans when center pump section is removed. Easy to inspect bit of a pain to remove diff and pinion but no big deal
  6. Dose the engine turn by hand ? if so try a small wire from + to small terminal on starter see if and thing happens this will bypass car make sure trans is in neutral
  7. A engine crane with a strap to bell housing works good to lower it down safely one guy lowers it while one guy holds it center works good for putting it back in to. This how I used to do them before I got my hoist
  8. I raised my impreza by using outback struts all way round had to change the rear control arm front mount plate that was all came up 2.5 inchs and can run a 15 tire now
  9. starter contacts tap it with hammer while someone holds key in start pos
  10. Have been finding that the knock senser grounding is critical I file the block bottom of senser and bolt to make sure 100 grounded also check main engine harness conectors pins are all pluged in good
  11. Oil pump is bullet proof might need some new orings
  12. Is fairly normal to be low at idle as long as it comes up when reved if worried put a manual gauge on it to check exact psi
  13. The last one I fixed with this problem the oring that seals the tail shaft housing to trans had fallen out of place when trans was rebuilt also if that oring is old and flatend out
  14. Also had a justy with old gas do that but gas was really bad
