  1. make shure oring on fillter is seated in the bore exactly right is critical that oring makes a good seal i also cut a notch in the rectangle oil pu part of filter so if pan gets hit will not stop flow
  2. i have 4 one is very good and has a ea82 carb on it and electronic ig covetion whant 800 for that one have one that sat around and has sticky valves bottom end very good 250 for that one have one that had burnt valve been replaced ran faily well 300$ and one that i never even looked at but was not seized 150$ and have a crank and rod assembly for 100$. the realy good one is runing in the car can see it run the rest whould have to take my word or start them on ground some options anyway
  3. one is is a 92 justy efi motor is cuppled to the ectv both good and low miles had some oil leaks but ran very good whould whant to put in new oil pump and rear main seal ect before install was keeping it for my 90 ectv justy but i sold it so do not need the spare engine whould sell motor and trans as unit for 1000$ or motor by itself for 700$
  4. mabee airated but probly to late worth a try to pull the pan check fillter and see how mutch debrie is in the pan thiss will tell you how bad it is inside
  5. 90-94 loyale same cly might be easyer to find spilt is ds front and ps rear and ps front and ds rear
  6. my 81 brat is very diferent from the 79 /80 had tach high low ea81 i put tbi on it and 100 amp alt on it the trans mounts and strut brace different shifter wireing perty close alt same carb not same but will boltup and work axle shafts same drive shaft same trans wireing close rad same motor mounts same exhaust xover different. I have both brats here a 78 ea71 and a 81 ea81 both same bodys so can look at specific things if you need or take some pics for you
  7. Have seen a 2 speed power glide take 1500hp + even thinking about one in buggy with chain drive and rear diff in front the 2 speed power glide is about 150 lbs lighter than the 4eat i run now that i only use 1rst and 2nd anyway

I have 3 good ea71s and 3 core ea71s and two crank and rod asemmblys for ea71 s also have converted a 78 wagon from ea71 to ea81 and four speed deul range before was a big job but not imposibble it rely helped having my old gen body ea81 high low 81 brat to compare the differencs in a factory ea81 install
  9. Toyota truck rear strait axle and 2 speed powerglide and hang on !! thats how the mud dragters do it and have seen many toyota axles get very punished with high hp and they hold up well for independat diff whould use 300 zx or early jag diff with inbord brakes
  10. Have seen many that pan gets dented and dislodges the fillter were the oring sits and alows air to be sucked in past oring and airates the fliud causeing bad shifting and whine when it sitts the fliud losses the air and shifts ok till it happens agian
  11. drive drag or tow it to the nearest heavy duty truck repiar shop and have them put a 1inch impact gun on nut and shear the axle off will atke about 1200lbs to do have had to shear one before and it takes alot or mabee you could rent a masive 1 inch gun or strong 3/4 gun or rent a torque mutipyer with 3/4 drive 32 mm. Anyway i bet the spindle is worn on the iner part were the berring race rides on spindle have had 15 in a row with this problem so many we made a jig to repair them by welding them up and latheing them back down
  12. i put togther a engine yesterday had very low dynamic comp ratio like 100-120 psi this engine runs very rough at idle gets better when reved but still runs ok so that comp looks just fine. i do not suspect burnt valve but cam timing. I had some injctor problems with this new engine the customer had got me aftermarket injectors were way to big and overfeuled engine badly so had to reinstall facotry injectors. Anyway two injectors were bad had no pulse seized or broken what i did to find the bad ones was unplug one injector at a time and see witch one makes no change in engine rpms i had two bad ones and the screens were very dirty. I grab them with my hose pliers and gentaly twist back and foruth wile pulling but they do not come out easy. Also make sure you have bled of feul preshure or will fill the cly with gas i undo the bolts on feul line to rail and release feul preshure there
  13. spindle is worn down wear the iner bering rindes on the race and threads are balled up on axle shaft axle probly toast a axle / hub assembly from wreaker best bet. I whould impact the nut tin can get axle at least out i just bought a torque mutiypyer when i put 250 ftlbs in gives me 1000ftlbs out this works good for breaking stuff like that my new favort tool

  15. I like the 2.2 with the 2.5 cly heads thiss seems to work the best more involved but more power and no check engine light
  16. not often i see a bad flasher but every day a see a bad bulbs bad buld will make it flash fast or not at all check all four bulbs first confirm they are ok check that hazards work i think on those cars the 4 way and signals shared a flasher unit only the gl10 had a flasher biult into collum switch

I whould drain the front diff and check magnet for meatal debries if clean probly ok if meatal or teeth bering bitts problem if clean not the problem theese difs do not go bad clean makes a mess and front diff only hold 1.5 L so is cheap to check thiss is my first step when diagnosing front diff problems
  19. random fluctuating boost preshures and low boost preshures oil seepage still blame spark somhow all the 2.0s seem to be having coil on plug problems mabee spark is not strong enuff seem to misfire the more boost is put to it
  20. Forgot to metion see the toyota truck front brakes on rear ? four piston fixed calipers and 17 inch rotors added with tortion bar and loyale coil shocks and still squats right down to take off thoose brakes can just barly hold it back at the 3500 stall at the line
  21. Thanks matt a pic is worth a 1000 words cant wait for the new engine to be done so can test it even tho last years engine still runs very strong and is still perty tight for doing a whole race season and hours of beach running wide open at redline think its almost broke in time to change it !
  22. black /white positive side coil yelow - side of coil shuold have 12 volts on black and white wire at coil
  23. i think it whould not help as the ea82 intake and tbi is based off long small runers to increase the air volocity and torque by opening up the heads whould decrease the air volocity and not pull as hard on the maf making it run leaner and less torque. Might help top end but 4500and up the tbi ea82 was very well setup efi and likes small runners
