Had one of the fisrt one i converted come in for service yesterday has a 2.2 with twinn cam 2.5d heads i put it together 8 years ago has 170000km since no check engine and runs perfect still i found thiss worked better than just strait 2.2 covertion as had no check engine light and is same management. Have converted many to 2.2 but all have check engine light and a little weak. The 2.2 twinn cam has more power than 2.2 shoc by about 10-15% and is very comparabble to the 2.5d

or just block egr off those cars realy liked there antibackfire valve i whould reinstall one if you can find it the stock carb setup worked realy good but had a ton of stuff hooked to it. The fact that it has a code means is a feedback carb theese carbs had a varablle main jet that was computer controled and tended to get stuck in one spot mostly on the ritch side. It has default abillity can go full ritch if sees a problem. I whould serch out a 85 -86 carb thats non feedback and try that. -
swapping 1991 engine in justy 4wd ecvt
ivans imports replied to rhon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the block is same ectv or five speed as long as after 90 as they whent to same length axles on both sides to do this had to bolt axle stub to block so block has more bolt up points on back. Have used a older block but had to use the long ps axle from 88 justy and use outer cv end from the 90 to work -

Had two more cars come in with thiss problem the seatbelt gets a wrap around the seat back addjuster so when seatbelt is pulled hard the seatback releases unexpectedly and seatbelt is compermised. Had two in one week 06 impreza and 02 outback both customer had no idea or hadent noticed. If in crash the seatback whould release and driver whould be smashed into airbag and blown back into seat thats not locked. Please check this anyone driving a 91- up new gens it takes one second and may save somone

Havent been able to get any pic on here since changed format but will work on it. The buggy is very muticoulored right now so paint first anyway took the 2.51 block and heads to my freinds shop and hacked it up took off every extra peice / ears ect we could off the engine to lighten it up and take away any parts that may trap mud on engine. Ported and polished the heads cams are still at shop should bet engine back today so can start surfacing will do head surfaces ex /in and bolck surfaces and even surface the oilpan surface and bell surface just cause i can hoping we can take 5-10 lbs of engine. The buggy i moved all the intake and exhaust pumbing and coolant lines all tucked in and hide under the hood. Am going to put outback tail lights and rear body corners on it with the spare boger tire in the center rear we are going to weight the rear to get a better balance point so can pull wheelies of the line and mabee extentnd the rear arms and biuld stronger rear axles. First race is in june at merit BC test and tune on may long weekend on the arrow beach

or worn ig switch make shure you have a heat riser on carb is critical part must have heat to carb or will frezze up and create ice in carb throat. When we used to run the SU carbs thiss was huge problem whould freeze right shut had a water heater on it and a exhaust heat riser and still whould try to freeze up -
Soon cars will stop accelerate lean learn and do everything for you all you will do is add imputs when it gos wrong you are along for the ride but dont worry the car has control of the stering brakes trans and gas. Drive by wire everything wonder what happens to all thoose controling ecus and sensers when a good old fastion problem comes around like alt overcharging or dead short. It scares me that they have taken the driver out of the controling the car and put ecus incharge

a easy way to confirm a bad front diff is to drop the oil and check the magnet for meatal if you take 1.5 liters of gear oil to any trany shop and ask them to change front diff oil and check for meatal debrie if clean is good bet trans is ok thiss shouldent cost very mutch $ of oil and 20 min labour. I whould be more inclined to blame a bad axle or wheel berring ect trans do not fail that often and is very apperant when they do you whould know. Non subaru techs working on subarus cerate greif for me and my customers dayly find a subaru specific tech. Because what they dont know will hurt you

there should be two headlight realys right above your left knee under the plastic cover wiring should be black with red stripe or black yellow black and white. But as far as i know realys are left and right not high low so u whould only lose one side not all four bad contacts in high low switch mabee

i use the one on right the dubble one little one back to tank big one inlet -
We live in a world of reuse anything you can on race / buggy engines reuse headgaskets lots and keep them stuck to heads when changing out burnt valves or teardown to crank keeping gaskets undisturbed to reuse them. Only on dont care motors but have don it lots last years race engine changed 4 pistons 1/3 the headgasket was reused 3 times and is still going even with nos and boost. Mind you i have my own surfacer so perfect surface every time. Have seen gaskets painted with aluminum paint and reinstalled i like avinnioc form a gasket seems to work best use it on every headgasket i do on anymake and no problems. But the quality of the used gasket whould be the varibble some come off perfect and some dont could only be reused if was good to begin with.

remote trans oil pump tell me more i think if you moved up to newer pump could get more flow and preshure there were many different pumps in subarus depending on engine size weight of car and engine load

one line into carb one line back to tank with slight restirction on smaller line i like to use the factory ea81 carb inlet tube has a return line spigot built in put it inline even the return line prevents overpreshuring the carb float and neddle and allows the feul to return to tank to cool perventing feul heat soak. I remove all the water seporator lines and tees and just run a line from spigot on firewall to carb -
exhaust is loaded with feul i get thiss somtimes when headgaskets go the catts and the muffler hold fliud and takes a long time to clear them out. I have to run them upto operating temp and somtimes drive them with a cloud behind it if not cleared by 1 km of driving warm then stop and look into it more. The catts need about 10 min of runing just to start heating up. Is there any posibblity that you could have hooked battery up backwards at all even for second ? thiss whould open all injectors and dump feul have had theese cars towed in with thiss semtem when batt conected backwards
