change front 02 senser and try it have had very good luck with telling customers to run preimium gas to fix 420 code helps to clean the catts but takes at least 3 tanks and drive hard. If catts are melted down they will rattle inside and exhaust will sound funny. Also have had good luck removing catts and preshure washing them out and reinstall cost a 1$ at the local car wash with new gaskets and no leaks

check alt and alt and alt chageing voltage ? berring failure ? have had 10 bad remand alts fail in thiss last year mostly bosch they rebiuld them and dont chage the berrings so berrings fail soon after rebiuld anyway should have 14.50 max no higher and no lower than 14volts have seen alot charging at 13.00 is to low means one bad diode and overloads the other diodes and burns wireing inside alt

So for all you guys who have ever broken a pinch bolt try taking a 3/8 drill bitt and drill from the back side of bolt about a 1/4 inch thiss will takeout about half the threads on the bolt making it about 60 % less likly to break if it still whont go drill abitt farther and watch the back side of bolt while turning it. If your turning the front side and dont see the back side move STOP and drill heat or beat but donot keep turning unless you see movment on the backside i used to break 2 a week now havent broke one in two years but have spent over a hour on that one bolt to get it out in one peice

i would use the 2.2 bottom end with the 2.5 heads on it have done a few now works good have to use the 2.2t headgaskets and slot two coolant holes but thiss setup works good and can use the stock managment the timing belt tentioner had to be trimed slightly to fitt the lower starter bolt had to be hili coiled and a stud installed to accomadate the 4 bolt bell last one was a 03 impreza with a 92 legacy 2.2 bottom end

in the iner fender well infront of the tire under the plastic wheel well is a inline fillter remotly mouted mabee is some traped in there. Had to have been a rad problem no other place that the coolant meets the atf. But if its oil in the coolant thiss have had many problems with the 3.0 as it has a layerd pan that has biult in oil coolers and many coolant pasage ways thru oil. Have two of theese 3.0s with milky oil is a problem in the lower pan area

do you hear the feul pump ? should cycle with the key for about 10 seconds fans are probly on because its on defrost or ac is on also check all engine harness conectors see if any are loose or not pluged in all the way you could putt a long screwdriver up to your ear and to the injector and listen for the clicking or niod light. no start = no feul; no spark or no timing everything else it will run
