EA81 wagon gas tank in hatch?

i have done thiss i drilled out all the spot welds on the rear tank xmember moved it back to fitt and bolted it back in place took some time but very doabble might take a bitt of fabracating to make it look perty. At the same time i drilled out and tapped the return line 5/16 and added a internal spigot to put the returned feul back to bottom of tank. I take the spigot off a tbi fuel inlet and solder a tube to it then i have a threaded return line with a tube for in the tank. I also used the drain plug as my feul feed i used a bajo bolt and line from a automatic gave me a 3/8s feed line right off the bottom of tank strait to a volkswagon cis feul pump thiss works good supports my 2.5 turbo engine in my 79 wagon -
i did check the opperation of the switchs they were defanatnly clicking dont know if they were conecting internaly but were phisicaly operating. A'm stuck for 2 weeks on thiss one as its gone back to camp. The customer runs thiss outback on speed controled rds is critical that cruise works as he will get fined for going to fast. Will try again when he gets back to town

when i do heads we leave the intake atached to the car on some you can see the injectors dribbling feul out when it not even runing i see thiss on new cars to. Some do and some dont you whould see the preshure bleed off if the injectors are leaking -
i whent one step father and added side feed injectors to the 2.51 intake to get more feul was a easy mod

Thiss one had me stumped couldent get cruise to work on 98 outback 5speed changed the actuator the collum switch the neural switch cruise ecu still no cruise any ideas. Not to often i cant figure it out but thiss one i'm stumped. Speedo works and crusie switch lights up but nothing spent half a day on it and got nowere ideas ?

feul preshure check and timing coolant temp senser maff doubt it have seen many ea82 feul preshure regulators go for crap they rust out internaly should be about 35-40 psi also look for bad conections at the coil were it grounds to the fender has to be grounded and likes to rust there -
had a bad power stering pump on my svx was able to sub in a 97 impreza pump with slight mods fixed the svx pump that was airating thiss is the 3rd svx pump have seen failed in the last 3 months. The preshure releif valve was worn on a angle and was bypassing making the fliud airated and foaming over the top of resivor. The impreza pump seems to work better with less leaks also i removed the return line cooler and its mutiple leaking conections now is leak free and works great

I would find a way to overide the o2 and force it lean would have to watch the stoich ratio closly to pervent damage to engine but i'm shure you could tune it for milage if you dont mind losing power. Or find a way to cut out cly at speed like the newer cars do droping injector pulse or somting like that -
i run a 2.5 twin cam turbo in my 79 wagon gen 2 is the same body rails i had to porta power the rails flat to fitt but it fitts No to the 4 speed put a 5 speed in it. And find a older ej engine they are simpler and have no vvt and can be run off a older harness 89-97 wire harness seem to work best. The 2.51 single cam engine will fitt to but wireing is mutch harder on theese

in the back under the cardbord pullout on the ps side right by were the filler go's in is a meatal cover with 3 screws pull this cover and you will see the conector for the gauge it likes to corode in thiss spot have repaired many do not have to drop tank. Thiss is on the inside bottom ps side at front of pocket check here first -
is it safe to assemble my engine in the winter cold?

i use avionic form a gasket glue on both sides of headgasket a thin coating to insulate the gasket from heat and seal any inperfections on block surface. Did you surface heads ? if not do it -
but you dident even get it warmed up thats a drop in a bucket in a 83 gls life its been doing that since day one !

try to get it warm or the glue dosent bond well if have to warm up the engine blocks first -
The torison front diff or qaif sorry no idea how to spell it has four hilical cut spiders is a eruopenen thing but it works and you can steer is very different looking than convential diff

any luck ? had a blown awd in a svx yesterday the speed senser and matal chunks and peices on it was very badly blown had to replace the whole tail shaft and rear output assembly. Was able to do it in car what a mess glad i have many cores for parts. Got ruined from runing two diferent size tires front to rear
