  1. i peen the end of the crank to fatten it up a bitt then i peen the keyway back into shape put in new key reluctor and pully should be ok as lond as the pully is a tight fitt to end of crank
  2. yes you need it and yes you can straiten it it holds the pump extention to the converter if not there the slip ring can move in its bore
  3. took the buggy out all day drove thrugh everything i could find was all good till sheared a front axle and had only rwd good thing its posi. Spent 45 min diging it out of 3ft of snow. But the engine is wicked thing hauls rump roast the water methanol made all the difference I have a good vidio clip of it will put it on here

  5. have had alot of that era of subarus with bad front o2 makes it surge and weak on hills and very surgy and hesatant but no check engine light or codes have had 6 with thiss problem recently changed the 02 and problem was gone. It seems worse if has a wide band 02
  6. i bought 3 in the last 2 months all broken trans 1 with a broken rack. Wana see it realy go putt a 4.44 diff ratios and a 2800 stall converter from a 2wd impreza and hang on makes it a very quiwk car not as fast as before but tear your head off accelleration
  7. clasic ea82 lean smell check plugs its running out of feul when boosted
  8. run any 2.5 piston you whant i like the sti pistons for the destroker as they are resably tough and easy to find for cheap butt it works good with 2.5d pistons or 2.51 pistons but they are weaker. I can biuld a destroker engine with used parts for under 150$ so longevity is erelavent but of the 4 i built all are still runing strong. The prototype destroker has 6 years of buggy and offroad use on it
  9. the problems are brought on by people working on the car that dont know the fact that you were told it even had a front transfer case means that whoever is working on it has no clue. They are gessing whats wrong and probly screwed it up in the first place. the only time i see problems with low milage subarus is when the dealer messes with what they shouldent or gess at the problem and create more problems
  10. taking the buggy out in the snow today is a good 3ft up the hill time for some no mercey testing !! perfect temp -5 see how it works with some cold air going into the buggy
  11. i run a 2.5 block with 2.2 crank and rods gives me about 8.5-1 comp ratio
  12. valve cover leaking oil on wires ? or timing belt idler giveing up or valve addjustment
  13. i have a whole syestem out of a 01 h6 compleate in a box with all the wireing if you need me to look a power feed wire
  14. probly worth pulling the drain plug and look for meatal peices if clean good to go if peices mabee look farther.
  15. what you cant see is the problem coolant leaks past the head bolt and into the oil and out the bottom of head if you can see coolant leaking on the outside its geting in the oil. I had one thiss week that was pushing coolant out the exhaust first one iv'e seen do thiss. The oil had coolant contamination i think most just evaporates off unnoticed
  16. distributor module or cracked magnet but diss problem for shure
  17. subaru coolant conditioner is bad news have seen no good come from thiss just mess and pluged rads and heater cores. And a false sense you can leave it longer than you should.

  19. i see this when the mainshaft retainer nut comes loose or mainshaft end berring go's were you spinning lots in the snow ?
  20. the problem turned out to be groved out tailshaft housing were they slip rings ride was to badly groved to seal
  21. me moms loyale has 475000kms on it cant get her out of the dam thing 10 years of driving in the crapy roads with no covers and only had 3 belts fail all from age not from contamination.
