  1. have you checked the 100 amp main fuse in under hood fuse box the black wire one ?
  2. main power feed from batt on + side or fuse box power feed or coroded wires inside the ds fender well a leaky battery will damage the wires right up into the fender is some main power feed coections close to fuse box under hood that are taped up in harness
  3. i made my own by machineing a pipe wleding a socket inside it with a rear axle output wleded to the pipe so i can titen the tool up into the hub so it dosent slip out works realy good and cost under 50 $
  4. I glue them in with avinioc form agasket and only use the meatal wp gasket and subaru thermo oring have had many aftermarket thermostat gaskets leak. Done six water pumps thiss week no leaks yet the ones with aluminum thermostat housings leak less but still need the subaru oring
  5. My 81 brat i put 2wd loyale rear struts in back + tortion bar can putt over 1200lbs easy it will take enuff wheight that front wheels will lift up before back squats
  6. Thats the problem dich the catch can is junk the pcv syestem pulls fresh air in on pass side pulls it truogh the engine and out the ds side and to the pcv valve. If you have a catch can on the pcv intake side you will not get the fresh air coming into the pcv circut. The pcv is like a circle its a sealed syestem and uses meshured air cant have any leaks and all air must go thrugh the mass air flow senser put it as close to stock as posibble. your engines pcv is probly not sealed and can not put the engine under vacume so oil looks for away out
  7. Comp test first see what you have cam jumped time or smashed piston or crap got into reluctor gear on back of engine or somthing meatal stuck to the cam senser pu. Had a 2.5 with a single steel ball berring stuck to cam senser caused no spark but start by comp testing
  8. have had 3 91 legacys latly that drop injector pulse on #1 cly at idle ok when reved but at idle low voltage to injector 1 put a noid light on #1 and see if its dim pulse at idle
  9. the only thing that could be damaged is the spedo drive gear the rest is tough as nails i think it whould just get chewed up and sit in bottom
  10. Did it run low on oil has a two stage pan and oil cooler so probly had enuff for bottom end but pistons starved for oil and scratched up top side of skirt do a comp test and see if is low on side thats not working. Do's it have vano cams? or vvt there are many small pasages on it if it do's mabee somthing got pluged. Or oil got one the coils or plug boots and shorted them
  11. nothing but brut force will remove the years of biuldup inside the core have been there many times i do the same with loyale and justy cores. What i can tell you is no amount of flushing will work
  12. i take the core and remove the end tank with a torch and then i use a small flat thin stainless strap i got from a rad to clean cores then resolider the tank use 50/50 lead tin soilder and lots of flux preshure test in pail of water and the heat will work takes me about 2 hours but worth it my 79 wagon will cook you out. and just for fun i took the heat elements out of 98 outback and put them in my 79 seats heated seat 79 wagon is nice in - 20
  13. try and get carb parts for a 86-87 std hatchback with ea82 even the dealer cant tell the difference you have to go by year runs 81-87 ea81 not 85-87 ea82 very confusing try as a 81-87 brat ea81 probly get the right part
  14. I fix alot of both the 251 and 253 and find the only bottom end problem was the leaking headgaskets customer runs oil low and berrings are done. I think its just a runing out of oil problem not a engine problem. And i see some realy high km 251s and 253s but all have never been run low on oil or overheated.
  15. a used clutch ? you can get a clutch kitt for about 150 $ i like the luk clutches i do have some used ones but do not recomend one new is best

  16. pull pistons and look at the top side for damage knurll acordiingly or replace them
  17. 95 % of my work is fixing the last guys job injectors dont break on there own and yes they are relativly easy to change takes me 8 minutes the late model ones are two stage and the bottom stage is very fragile. and extreme care must be taken to not damage them ? what coulor are they ?
  18. yes i think i do have extra sett will look today but think the clips are broke

  19. we put a charger on a svx 3.3 works crazy good with only 7 psi was a foot above the hood level though
  20. I flat file them before install but i bet if you look closer you will find ether the wp leaking or the wp to block gasket leaking
  21. Leave them alone and fix the real problem start with valve addjustment then plugs and wires have never seen a bad injector on newer subarus. But have seen a heck of a plie with valves to tight. or with oil on plug boots or arced coilpack electroincs on subarus rarly go bad if ever.
