  1. I have two rx clutch pack lsd diffs and wouldent sell for les than 700$ and even then no they are very rare and have oly ever seen two. The turbo legacy ones are cheaper and easyr to find. But still i get 350 $ all day for them and have a wait list for lsd diffs. Oh and i.m a diff tag junkie check e'm all found a lsd in a beater loyale other day why i dont know but somone had put it in there. Keep looking was way more of them in usa than up here
  2. have two 90-91 legacys right now that loose pulse on injector 1 at idle but ok when reved up narrowed it down to worn out idle motor
  3. Thats the starting price for base 2.2 and go's up from there i only have two parts supplyers and they pull from same wherehouse. The parts here have big markup from the supplyers. I dont think its all of canada just BC that has thiss pricing problems.
  4. And then i get a 98 outback with 425000kms on it engine never been apart and one owner just blew the headgasket for first time and runs good still. The customer whants me to do heads so she can see how high she cam push the kms on the origanal engine. A bitt scary but hey push it to 500000kms or better
  5. I'm shure you cant tell but when i'm turning 4 31 paddle tires you notice even a small drop in toruque we learned thiss when we lightened flywheels.and ended up with a car that stalls when you let clutch out because there was not enuff rotating mass
  6. That timing kitt cost me 285$ at my local parts stores boy you guys get cheap parts down there.
  7. it came back in with 440 like gd said so i removed the under hood carbon can and used the outback 2.5 purge soiliniod and hoses. And found the thermostat had stuck open fixed that and all good thanks gd for the help with 440.
  8. subaru used left and right headlight wireing every one else used high and low curcits i take the signal from one headlight to turn on my realays to turn on headlights and wire the power feed right off the post on alt gives me 100amps at 14.50 volts to my 4 100 watt headlights works spanky
  9. sounds like a blown planetary is locked up and running direct drive check the planetarys havent blown up is in the dead center of trans
  10. the lifters tick because the front crank seal is dryed up and pulls air into the oil pump change the front crank seal first
  11. Better bumper side mounting for all plastic bumper cars and rad support protectors to prevent tow truck damage have had many with rad support pushed up by tow trucks causes unseen but bad damage
  12. I have 150 used coged idlers just from the last 6 months and have bought out all of the stock on them in western canada cant get them as fast as i use them
  13. One thing iv'e leaned is the heavyer the crank pully the more tourque the engine makes i add wheight to mine to make it heavyer. And is why the 2.5 use's a heavy pully and the 2.2 use's a light pully. A lighter pully will increase hp but reduce toruque.
  14. when you grind cams you need to plane the cam caier down the same amount have seen thiss before
  15. took the buggy out to the beach agian was able to get it to hydroplane across water was going over a 100 ft of water without touching bottom. Hit the pond at 110 kms and from every direction.Thiss was a new experince for me. And had the high stall tourque coverter works so good and water methanol put 3 tanks of feul and two 4l of washer fluid and no engine problems or breakdowns
  16. Works good no check engine light but random high idle somtimes not shure why mabee cause the outback was auto and the brighton ecu was a standard
  17. love it if to mutch preshure will just colapse the spring back down agian I will try thiss on the fishing car. as the power stearing is had with the 235 75 mud terains was hard to stear over the rocks and hill climbs.
  18. never a deul carb but just built a strong ea 81 for a hovercraft. we reground the cam used the bigger heads from a 87 chaser on the 81 solid lifter engine and put on a carb and intake from a 86 ea82 simplfyed down thiss engine worked realy good and i think the ea82 carb whould out pull the deul carb setup. we were shooting for 120 hp and i think we are realy close to that. was the snapyest ea81 iv'e seen even better than my TBI ea81.
  19. take the reluctor gear see the two holes in it use a 8-125 tap and tap those two holes and then you can use a standard puller on it to remove it. When the crank gets worn i peen the end slightly to make it so the pully is tight on crank agian is arkaic but works also i peen the keyway slot to make key a tight fitt agian. And titen the poop outa it with some locktite also while your there check the thrust berring in crank have had a few with bad thrust lately worse on standard cars
  20. Dont know if anyone caught thiss or not the 95-96 25d is not the same as the 96and up 25d it uses hydrolic lifters and grafite head gaskets and bigger pistons. And go's 250000-350000 kms with no headgasket problems have one here 380000kms origanal headgaskets and no leaks. I tryed to buy the grafite gaskets but unavalabe to be had. Anyway thiss engine was the good 2.5d not to be mixed up with the crapy steel headgasket 96 and up 2.5d with the pain in the --- addjustable bukets.
  21. i think if i had a choice thats the car i whould drive across the contry nice truck !
  22. Thiss swap was different when i put in the 2.2 witch was from a 97 legacy L into a 97 outback 2.5d. I used the engine harness from the 97 2.2 and the ecu from the 97 2.2 and no check engine light ran good and still no check engine light. So ? is thiss 2.2 legacy L or brighton model a canaidian only model. Is that why thiss worked or is thiss just the way the swap should work is the first one without a check engine light. With egr codes the 2.2 brightons never had a egr and the 2.2 ecu plugs right into out back. Did the 2.2 usa legacys L and the brightons come with egr in the usa ? or a diferent emistions programing or standards ?
