  2. i can plane the heads and block height adjust the comp by useing different thickness of headgasket if you use a 2.2 crank in 2.5 d engine will lower the piston in bore then can deck the block down makes a 2.35 engine big pistons short stroke low comp big berrings and reliablity have made 4 now all work very good
  3. is werid that way have some leak like crazy or no mufler but no 420 codes seems to only efect certan cars the 01-03 forester is the worst offender so far

I do thiss because i have 60 ej subaru engines laying around all a little bitt diferent is a good way to see what you can get away with 2.2 with 2.5d heads or 2.5 with 2.2 heads or 2.5 with 2.2 crank and 2.51 heads or 1.8 with 2.2 heads or 2.2 with 2.51 heads or eas with wrx pistons or any motor you can think of have done about all of them my daily driver is a 09 sti short block with 99 twin cam heads wrx turbo western star intercooler in a 79 wagon with 5 speed high low it works good
  5. TBI throttle body injection comes on 90 loyales and up and fitts a ea81 or ea82 engines i cut the harness down and put the tbi on have it on my 81 brat with ea81 more power and better throttle reponse and no carb problems has been on it for 10 years no problems
  6. spray some engine store into it before you turn it and feel for tight spots when turning it if smooth should be ok any scratching or resistance then mabee not ok
  7. heres a parts list for you cam seals x2 crank seal x1 cam orings x2 oil pump shaft seal x1 oil pump oring x1 oil pump mounting oring x1 valve cover set should seal it up the ticking is caused by air geting into the oil thrugh the oilpump shaft seal is a small seal in center of oilpump and is critical to come from subaru and most important seal on ea82
  8. feul temp senser will not do thiss could set code but pump will still work. Just one realy is controled by main realy and ecu the main has to power up before the feul pump realy can turn on
  9. comutator bars on pump worn down to far and pump drawing to many amps over loads the circut it grounds with the engine harness grounds on engine doubt thats the problem bad pump or realy power feed problem or pinched wires somwere
  10. subaru sells a rebiuld kitt for them its like 80 $ comes with all seals and oring exept the tank oring have done many fixes leaks
  11. have hydrolicd many motors only seen one bent rod and it ran for 6 years with it bent and did not damage berring in any way the piston just came up a 1/4 inch less than the other 3 but probly a rod berring anyway dam 2.5d s you could have saved it if a oil preshure check was done on ?able motor before it failed 10 psi min hot at idle
  12. if its broken you will see it through the inspection hole had a svx one was broken 3 days ago where the bolts bolt up had torn away from flex plate was very easy to see made the same noise check for cracks on all 4 bolt points

  14. very easy to break the pump stator when messing with converter make shure its in all the way and check the pattern on blot up to flex plate is same some are smaller bolt pattern
  15. yes but it whould not repair a lean condition just fool the ecu into thinking the feuling is allright when its not
  16. thats not a bad idea try to modify the signal to ecu but whould thiss fix a lean problem or mask it
  17. sounds like the flex plate is cracked or broken dosent sound like bottom end check flex plate bolts
  18. i have my own boring bench setup for subaru engines was going to bore it myself but may not be enuff materail there also thiss is a dragrace block so could cement it posibly to hold liners together is a long term project and have two 3.0 engines to work with one has cracked block so would be a good candadate to try things with
  19. carefull wrong hookup will ruin alt i use only one wire from the legacy alt on my 79 with 2.5 turbo uses 91 legacy alt

I have both out on ground right now the wrx ones are bigger so it might not work i have six wrx pistons here waiting i would like to use what i have because the buggy is based of low budget raceing that what makes it competative and interesting raceing high budget guys with low budget platforms my engine is way cheaper than the big block guys i race and it bugs the crap outa them realy how mutch do's a 517 dart engine with alcholol injection and nitros injection realy cost so whos winning
  21. was making no noise at all just sliping on the ps pully not the alt was tight belt to just ribs were worn away enuff to slip under load try a belt just for fun
