  2. Check rear wire harness on back right corner of car has not broken the harness for tank vent valve likes to break there and replace 02 if any doubt 02 controls feul delivery. Had a 99 impreza set codes for tank level senser and tank temp senser changed 02 and code went away was weird linked somehow
  3. hmm pu HENO bullet proff or a S10 at least parts for chevs very easy and cheap to find and lots to pick parts from at wreakers. round here a PU is a loyale wagon or outback wagon with a trailer behind it
  4. Headgasket and headgasket running off bottom Ds lower rear corner of head seam. If you can see it leaking means coolant is finding its way into oil This can cause damage to engine
  5. Had a 3.0 ll bean came thru 385000kms never been apart see very few engine problems with h6 but do 97-99 outback engines all day at least 10 dead ones in two months

I do not like the ea71 pistons weak between the ring lands the ea82 piston is far stronger On the ea 81 engines I build for airplanes / hovercraft we used the ea82 pistons shaved block / heads worked very well the ea82 pistons are higher but dident have any clearance problems. Mind you I planed very little of block and heads. At any rate the ea82 pistons are 50 % stronger
  7. Wow nice job !! very cool setup 3.3 is a good engine but heavy and cool. How hard was the trans to adapt ? looks good on a Subaru engine Thinken rwd loyale or outback
  8. the 2.2 I built with delta cams did not run good weak and rough running something with the cams Put ej2.5d twin cam heads on same motor and it roared. Something dident work right engine was very sluggish and no bottom end power
  9. I use the bolts that hold the front diff on the 4eat just the right length for a bolt /nut combo
  10. I put 350 hp to them with 33 in paddle tires seem to hold up broke one in two years of racing
  11. I use 85-87 axles Gl10 from turbo 3 speed the 3 rib ones toughest they made
  12. I bet a good amount of those cars with misfire codes and 420 code is a bad valve guide causing it
  13. have been using ARP head studs on all ej engine nowdays only way I can guarantee headgasket jobs is only 100 more than buying stock bolts and worth every penny
  14. had a 07 impreza yesterday misfire codes 02 codes had 4 out of 8 ex guides droped one the end was smashing against the valves both sides Mide you 0 smoke and ran not to bad. This is becoming a comen problem
  15. have a whole 77 dl wagon a'm parting but can use axle boot from 99-01 outback is very similar size just bit tight on inside boot shaft size
  16. Also some engines came with 7mm oil pump was to small and had hard time keeping up check oil pump stamp for size came with 7mm 9mm and 10 mm pumps see the most bottom end problems with the 7mm one
  17. holding top of carb the needle should stop flow when float is sitting level and strait I blow thru spigot while moving float to confirm flow and stop of flow also should be a sight line on float glass or exactly half way up float glass. To high will come out top to low will run lean
  18. Dropped valve guides on ex valves a'm seeing this a lot lately pull header look at guides see if they have moved down
