  2. ea82 carb have one on a 77 wagon and it hauls rump roast was a bitt of modifying but way bigger carb
  3. i have 6 of those nipon distributors outdated so just sitting some were very low miles i realy good condition
  4. i perfer the 2.2 with the 2.5d heads i like to keep the heads with car if at all posibble
  5. 2.2 crank works fine but will drasticaly lower comp from 200-145 will still run fine and last forever we call it a destroker motor and use them with turbo have not ran to many na but it will work as long as they are both phase one engines i have put the 2.5d heads on 2.2 i do that all the time works very well and lasts

  7. Howcome no one puts tbi on theese ? i have it on my 81 brat ea81 it works very well and make way more power than stock
  8. make your own use dirt bike control cables cut down you can get your own end and soilder them on they are way heavyer duty and easy to find
  9. rear drum ? wheel cly if not master leaking into booster not likly but posibble rusty line ?

Resurfaced a 1981 ea81 head yesterday and it had exact failure ponts and the newer head exactly the same places were low on head and gasket had been moveing vibrateing and had worn the head in lower oil return ports funny same problem from day one we have been debating weather a heat risistant spacer on exhaust whould help to keep exhuast heat away from headgasket.
  11. The switch is not a ground switch on the ea82 cars only the ea81 cars the ea82 car its a power in power out switch it gets hot and makes the conection axoss the termanals
  12. not on the awd end on the pinion end the nut that holds the two berrings in place berrings did not fail just came loose was very strange have never seen thiss one. Tranny had never been apart.

A used crank if its checked to make shure is ok i have been sending them to be turned down and have had good sucsess out of 8 cranks they saved 4 i whould get it compleate with the rods as matched set mind you how mutch for rebiuldable short block ? i sell a rebiult short block for 1500 to shop and 2000 to customer resurfaced crank done ready to run give you a idea

  14. Came axross somting i havent seen yet the nut that holds the berrings on the pinion backed off alowing the pinion to go to deep into crown and interferd and smoked the pinion teeth right off. Have rebuilt many front diffs but have never seen thiss nut come loose see somting new evry day fixen subarus

Its a 2.5d oh tear it down surface block surface heads reberring and rering bottom end and put it back toghther and should be good make shure you use avinoic form agasket on headgasket surfaces. I have a customer car here today that customer did own headgaskets did not surface heads and i can see oil leaking from the bottom seam of headgaskets runs ok but leaks oil and ticks like crazy because lifters got mixed up anyway formagasket whould have saved thiss guy a oil leak for shure no worrys its not just you. Good thing its here for front diff so i can ignore engine problems. I whould tear your engine down and rebiuld it you will be happy with results and ask the machine shop to let you watch them plane it you may be suprised at what you see
  16. witch ones where the heads go on ? or where the block halfs join ? i whould have both but i think you could use a cut down bolt or pipe aslong as its the right size

I did hear back from the DOT they said is good no problem they sugested not good for adult use but not ileagal the question whent right to head office and they had a discution on it anyway all good. Was bumed thogh my old brat was turned down for colector plates because it has some chips in paint and the front valance is missing some paint is bummer i did not what to repaint it i like its personality and patina
  18. have been puting all awd subarus at 35 front and 32 rear to compansate for engine wheight so get no windup
  19. spark meens you blew the fan fuse check if fan still works when on defrost seting
  20. the heads dont warp they wear when i plane them there is low spot on bottom side of fire ring and on the lower oil return ports by exhaust the 2.2 heads cleanup at 2 thow but the 2.5 d and 2.5 1-3 all take 3-4 thow they are always bad on lower side where oil retun ports are
  21. sorry missed the point yes have seen two 2.2 enginges have the cly turn so you could not get pin out and the cly had rotated about a 1/4 turn there was no way to fix without reboring with new liners it do's happen but very rare have only seen two out of hundreds

I see it so mutch i came up with my own term { cly walk ] creates low areas around the bottom of the cly that repeatedly fails because its worn down lower than rest of block the barrels actualy move back and forth and wear down the aluminuim as i said before thiss is realy apperant when you surface the block have had some that the barrel is 6 thow lower than outside surfaces
  23. sorry missed this we are going to try and surface a whole short block asembeld for fun and to see if can be done without teardown
