No i did one yesterday a 06 outback had never been overheated and had only 95000kms on it was leaking oil on exhaust i fixed headgaskets the heads or block did no require surfaceing was still good shape could however see that the gasket had been moving and wearing at the head surface but just starting to even at thiss low of milage the coating on gasket was breaking down anyway it seems the sooner its done the less damage is done thiss is the lowest milage one iv'e done if it has over 150000kms on it gets rods and mains and rings. One the new ones i only plane heads /blocks if absulotly nesacary as the piston to head clearance is tighter

i have seen 25 dead engines cause of rotery tools takeing to mutch material off and the abrasives find there way into the oil and wipe berrings i have seen as mutch as 6 thow ground off when I put the block halfs on the planer you can realy see the damage mostly around the barrels on the lower side. Roto disks are for cast only and even then they are engine killers

Thiss will get you guys going i use avinoinic form a gasket on evry headgasket i do always not to help it seal witch it do's but to insalate the gasket from the heat and vibrations so it holds up the gasket materials cant hold up to the vibrations and will tear the coatings off. I will never put a subaru headgasket on dry ever have done more than 60 headgasket jobs thiss year and all no comebacks or problems. But have had to redo many that were poorly done and headgaskets failed right after being done

just plain jain NGK plugs the platnium ones and iridium one are hard to spark through and likes to jump down the side to ground have had many problems with thiss the simpler the plug the better it seems to work i do not like hot plugs in subaru engines. And i still think iceing could be a problem and should have more TB heat on a cold wett day could be a problem and would be no way to repiar it in air and the more throttle you give it the worse it whould get
