For the shaking i would guess that you could also have a loose lug nut, they may not have tightened them down properly at the shop, im guessing they had to remove the wheels to work on the brakes. I have had a shaking problem before after working on my brakes and not tightening the lugnuts enough. It would shake when not under power but go away when accelerating and gradually get worse over time until both deceleration and acceleration cause shaking. not sure why in your case it is intermitent though. i would check just to be sure that all the lugnuts are tight, could be a brake issue but not properly torqueing the lug nuts could be a possiblity. Having a lugnut loose could have damaged the stud letting the lugnut work its way off to a certain point then becuase it cant go any farther slowly work its way back on, this is just a theory though not sure if it could happen. -
Fixed the problem turns out that when i changed engines the ac compesor being unbolted caused the splice from the fuse box to the horn and emergency flashers to come loose the splice was done with only electrical tape for some reason, respliced it with a wire nut problem solved. turns out the blinkers worked all along they just where not working when i tested them becuase the hazard switch was still pushed in which disables them.

Not sure if having a valve cover bolt fall off with no warning and loosing all my oil in less than a block counts as haunted but its a try. Probably has to do with bad luck more than anything else.

Full time DR 4wd is in 4wd all the time, while the regular DR 4 is a part time system and 4wd can only be used on slippery surfaces -

84 GL stuck in gear! Help.

Im not an expert but id guess that you throw out bearing is seized, not sure how common that is though. That would expain the drop in rpm when you push the clutch in. As for the grinding when you shift into gear you could try tightening the clutch cable but if the throw out bearing is seized then you will just wear the fingers down on your pressure plate and the problem will come back. As for geting stuck in fouth gear i have the same problem when i stop in fourth gear i get it unstuck turning off the engine and releaseing the clutch. I just remember not to leave it in fourh before i come to a stop. Hope this helps. -

has any one else had both their rear crankcase bolts strip out and leak oil. Right now my engine is held together in the back by the bell housing and that might give out soon becuase it has a crack in it by the starter. What would be the most likely cause overheating or over torqueing by some previous owner or mechanic. -

i will look at those then is there an easy way to spot a leak or will it sound like a leak or do i have to go over all the lines -
can any give me any suggestions over the weekand my car lost its alternator and i replaced it but now i have a rough idol and it stalls. drives fine at normal speed. not sure if the alternator is some how related. Th rpm jumps around like 400 rpm and i turned up the idle speed but it only stops the stalling but the rpm still is wild right now i have it idoling at about 1100 which i here is high for an ea 81. Thanks
