1. I want to buy a winch for the 86 Brat. What size capacity winch should I buy? Will a 2000 lb capacity winch do the job? Thank you Mike
2. Thank you both for the input. I bought them. A set of 4 for $65.00 plus shipping cost of $45.00. I intend on using them for offroad unless they look way too good. I have a set of 15 inch Pug alloys for street. Would you mind sending the pics on the lug nuts The Sucker King? Either here or email me at stinkydogfilms@sbcglobal.net Thank you also for the tire size input turbosubarubrat, that helps. Thanks again, Mike
3. Will these fit on an 86 Brat? Any problem with disc brakes?
4. Hi, What is the tallest 13 inch tire I can find and put on the Brat? preferably an offroad tire.
5. Hi, I am going be towing my 86 Brat (with a 5 speed) 16 miles across town using a 2003 Grand Caravan with a UHaul installed hitch. I am thinking about buying a Walmart tow bar since I need to tow 3 other cars two miles each. Is a tow bar easy and fairly safe to use? Can I just put the Brat in neutral and tow it driving slow on city streets? I will not be towing on the freeway. Should I tie/secure the steering wheel with the steering wheel unlocked so it don't turn too much on turns? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Reese-Towpower-Adjustable-Tow-Bar/15125825#Item+Description Any advice is welcomed.
6. Hi, I just bought a Brat a few months ago. One of the fog light lenses is broke. They look like the one you had that was in service as a turn lamp. Would you like to sell the one fog light if you still have it? Thank you, Mike
7. Is the 81 timing chain or belt then? Thank you, Mike
8. I did not know that. I thought the 82 was better. Again I am very new to subies. Any model numbers for the weber carb swap? Do I need to change the intake? Are there any threads in the forums that may better educate me about Brats and EA motors? Thank you again,
9. On a stock 86 Brat with no lift How wide and how tall of tires can I go with on the 14 inch alloy pugs without rubbing? Both questions for 15 alloy pugs? Thank you, Mike
10. Yes lucky to have the Pugs. Saw the engine tag. It is an EA 81:) Thanks again everyone.
11. first pic is the push toggle switch that I did not know what it was. I mentioned in a previous post
12. It is an 86. It does have a 5 speed put in it by the previous owner though. I bought it off of Ebay in January. I will take a look tomorrow when I go to work. Godzilla does not know I bought it:( so I have been storing it at my job.
13. I am new to subies. The distributor on my motor is in the front close to the radiator. Is this an EA 81 or EA 82? Thank you, Mike
14. The shifter does not want to slide thru the gears with the engine off or on. reverse did grind with the motor running so I know the clutch needs adjustment. Any tips on adjusting the clutch? How about adjusting the shift linkage. Any tips there? It is a 5 speed in the 86 Brat. My thanks to the forum. Mike
15. more pics of the roll bar
16. I will do more pics tonight. I see the paperclip now. Just so you know the square floor tiles are 6 inch by 6 inch.
17. I 'm sorry, I do not see the paperclip. All of the smiley icons are there in the box and above the smiley box are spellcheck, increase size and switch editor mode. If someone will email me, I have 4 pics in an email draft ready to go and maybe they can post the pics for all. I have another 2 dozen pics to send. stinkydogfilms@sbcglobal.net Thank you, Mike
