  1. I sold a set of rear seats to a guy out in i think indiana for $175 and plus $150 to drive to portland and ship it using greyhound. Also sold a canopy that was in good shape for $150. You could basicly sell the rear seats and canopy and get 2 free brats. The 79 should be worth $300-600 depending on the shape of the body and interior. If you have roll bars or brush guards with them those are work some money too.
  2. Use a multi-meter on the battery while the engine is running to see if the alternator is putting juice back in the battery. It should be slowly going up to 14v or a little more. Or you can take the alternators off and get them tested at a parts store for free.
  3. You can use the external fuel pump off a gas f-250 with dual tanks. Or any pump rated at 33psi-90psi since there is a regulater already on the intake monifold inline for the injectors.
  4. Heat up the crinkled areas with a torch so it pulls out easy.
  5. Change the transmission stub shafts/drive shafts on the transmission http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/144724-transmission-stub-shaft-swap-who-has-done-it/ http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/87305-easy-transmission-front-seal-replacement/
  6. Bought 2 weber 32/36's for $40 and the ej22 $100 along with all the stuff for the motor. Haven't decided whether to go ej22 carb'd or fuel injected yet.
  7. Here's another example of what could be done http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/4668285727.html this thing has been on craigslist for months.
  8. How are the spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil, cap, rotor, and air filter? Does it have stock fuel injectors or upgraded? Also what psi is your turbo running at? Have you read your codes on the ECM?
  9. It looks like you could cut the bumper mount on the drivers side with a sawzall and unbolt the passenger side.
  10. You cant find the dip stick since its hidden under the turbo shroud. It mounts with 2 bolts one on each side of the engine bay which need taken out and the sensor unplugged. The ignition module its self it specific to the ea81t and ea82t but the mechanical parts of the distributor are the same as a non turbo. You see the two hard lines coming off the oil pump? Those go to the oil cooler on the front (you can see part of one of the lines in the picture).
  11. If your air painting it buy rustoleum rusty metal primer and add mineral spirits to be able to spray with the gun. I think they also sell it in the spray can so you can do it that way too.
  12. Got another set of rear seats for $50 Also picked up these exhaust pipe pieces for $20
  13. Sold her today to her new owner who lives in portland.
  14. Was brought up about 2 years ago on the 2nd page of my 85 brats build thread. Subaru of America posted the picture on their facebook page so i copied it to my thread for the people who hadn't seen it. My 85 could likely be one in the picture since it didn't come with rear seats.
  15. My factory subaru manual says the supercharging pressure should be 48.0 kPa + or - 4.0 which translates to 6.96 psi + or - 0.58. You should be fine running anywhere from 7-10 psi without problems. It should move good with a manual in it over the stock 3 speed auto like my wagons have had. If i kept one i would swap it to a 5 speed to bring the engine alive.
  16. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/148904-nice-82-brat-near-reno-turbo-116k-miles/?hl=%2Bturbo+%2Bbrat When it was on craigslist you could tell it was put together one way or another. It's definitely not a stock turbo brat but still looks good. You should turn down the boost or your going to have problems in the near distant future.
  17. If you can't find a gl in good condition get a loyale with a good motor and put in a gl transmission. Super easy to do since it bolts right in you just have to add a whole in the trans tunnel, get a the d/r interior pieces, and some wiring. Same with a auto 4wd you just have to swap everything over related to the manual trans including the 3.9 rear diff. You can by 2 or 3 cars for the price of one if you don't mind building and fixing the car the way you want it.
  18. Your going to want about a 87-89 gl wagon since they were fuel injected and had d/r's. Most of the dl's if not all came with a push button.
  19. Not mine the first one i posted is Adam N.D.J Brat and the second one im not sure who's it is i know its a brumby so its from Australia maybe some one knows? Although i do plan on eventually putting a frame on my hatchback. I will either build one out of tubing or just use a truck frame since i want a 6 inch lift or bigger on it. Maybe even a hatch brat will come to life with t-tops if i fill ambitious. I also have a 84 brat that i've been thinking about turning into a wheeler since it needs a front clip.
  20. It can be swapped to analog my 83 was. I think the connectors are the same because the harness didn't look to be replaced when i got mine. It still had melted plugs from the dash fire.
