  1. Craigslist, here, parts cars, junk yards, ebay, and auto parts stores. It really depends on what you need, when you need it, and how much you want to pay. Post up parts you need in the wanted section http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forum/25-subaru-stuff-wanted/.
  2. You could also build something like this. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2658126/1984-subaru-brat/
  3. I don't know if this helps but heres some old ones http://www.cardomain.com/ride/437378/1982-subaru-brat/page-3/
  4. I would change the atf if you haven't already since it does help them shift better with new fluid.
  5. What the hell happened to that brat it used to look like this
  6. Haven't gotten around to working on this again yet but still collecting stuff. I bought another set of step sides and a spare tail gate with a intact trim piece well over a month ago. Then i picked up a $15 exhaust at pick n pull with a little other stuff.
  7. weber'd Then i Ramsey winches i picked up for $40
  8. Picked up some stuff up for it over a month ago at pick n pull thinking im going to put on the gl head light setup and the gl cluster while im at it. Got a y-pipe for it. Redid the steering linkage. Doesn't bind and turn easily by hand or with the wheel since the ball joints aren't hooked up. Got exhaust kind of figured out. Gen 2 harness unwrapped and ready to be cut down and combined with a 1st gen.
  9. Did you check to make sure your getting power to the pump under the bed? Also did you replace both fuel filters the one by the pump and the one in the engine bay? The carb system is only about 2 psi just enough to get the gas to the carb. The three types of lines for the fuel system are inlet, return, and fuel vapor which can be identified fairly easy.
  10. Any plans on making full 6 or 8 inch kits for ea81's?
  11. For sale now and up on craigslist http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/4639123848.html. Let me know if your interested.
  12. Knock out two studs diagonal to each other on the hub. Then mark where to drill on the hub by mounting the wheel to the hub or where to drill the wheel if you want to keep the 4x140 pattern.
  13. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Subaru-Service-Manual-Section-2-3-Engine-and-Transmision-Fuji-Heavy-Ind-/141375841704?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item20eaa825a8&vxp=mtr
  14. That motor is a ea71. It should have ea71 milled on the block between where the block meets the head and the distributor.
  15. Any pics of damage done on earls brat and a video of how it went side ways?
  16. The the ea71 points distributor fits in a ea81 and has the same length shaft. The ea82 distributor also fits but if i remember right you have to take off the ea82 gear then put the ea81 gear on and drill a new hole for the roll pin.
  17. They only made one harness for both the gl and dl models. You have a dl so you only have 2 head lights instead of the four that came with the gl models. If you want you can swap over gl head light buckets, 4 head lights, and a gl grill to have 4 lights. Your problem is a bad connection from the head light switch connector most likely.
  18. The ea81t and ea82t motors bolt right in(minus some wiring). Other wise you can do a turbo carb conversion, carb supercharger conversion, or "im not if any one has done this" convert to single port fuel injection off loyale and add a turbo. Where do you live? There is a guy close to where i live who has a ea82t on craigslsit. Otherwise you will have to ej swap the brat and put in a better auto transmission to hold up against the bigger motor.
  19. Fixed the dip stick. replacement reverse light switch from pick n pull. took off the front plate and put it on the dash. original reverse switch broke a terminal. While i was down there i drain the transmission fluid and put in new 80 90w
  20. plug mount made. welded on to the hitch and painted.
