ea81t belts part numbers or size?
turbosubarubrat replied to turbosubarubrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
here is the answer -
from last week and the week before where does the port go?
-
The stuff i got they guy said it came off his 81 wagon rally edition that got hit in the rear. my dad wanted the motor so i only had to pay $95 and he payed $80 for a motor that that was pulled 2 months ago, running, and non-smoking with a new clutch. and back to parts sorting i now own one of the rarest factory brush guards now but it needs work and my rims hording?
-
my craigslist add is paying off again im getting a factory winch bumper, a set of wheels that are black/crome calmasters? and tires, ea81 motor, radiator, grill, head light bezals, third eye, and a the factory 82 owners manual for only $175 and possibly more

i think it has 150k on it so it needs to be tuned from sitting so long. plus running it more than 10 miles in 16 years might help it get all the gunk out of its system to make it run good.

i've heard the webers run without the cat and emission stuff very well plus they get 20%(at most)in power gain. timing could be off see what it says with a timing light. did you take out the distribuator? if so you could of made it a tooth off if its running rough but if it runs smooth its not it. it might be a vacume leak or something simple like that. i fill you on this because my brat was getting 100 or thousand times the legal limit for hydrocarbons and thats a 40k imported crate motor -
also could deliver if you can't tow.
-
it would need to be towed because its not licensed or tagged. my dad wants somewhere around a thousand but make a offer. it runs , drives, has the brush guard, rear seats, canopy, replaced rear diff., replaced tail lights, but needs body, interior, and engine work.
-
it runs ok, but runs rough from sitting since 97 untell last year when we got it. it has been started/driven about 7 times since we got it but it could use the carb adjusted because its been rebuilt by me and definently a tune up. the iol only has been changed in the last 2 miles also. it definently needs tlc.

$50 is not bad at all it sure beats $130 for a new one. when i had to find one for my 83 ea81t they wanted $250-$325 for one with a core. napa and car quest only had one they could get in the whole country and subaru would of had to get it from japan if they even have one. luckily i got one off here for $45 shipped because i didn't have one.

put the brush guard back on
-
did this last weekend/monday sanded, 2 primer, and 3 coats of black sanded, primed, and painted metalic(ran out of black but looks good.) installed cut out still need to grind off some and bondo

could be yours if you want to buy it

i use a a wrench whatever size the axle nut is with a 8ft crow bar then i get it so the crow bar holds the hub in place then i put the wrench on and give it a few hard quick stomps with my foot, somehow this has worked great for me everytime but i have a filling its rusted on. have you tried tightening it to make it break loose?(i wouldn't sugest that but i have done it a few times if it will not loosen). spray it with something good that will penatrate rust and that will help you hopefully.

yah your missing the metal bracket. your best luck would be to go to a junkyard and look at the ea81 and ea82 cars to find one or just make one. -
looks very close to mine even the same color i haven't seen to many of this bright red so nice score, minus the fact mine is disasembled for painting and head light swap so it will look like a 82 and that. also because i already have a roll bar and a canopy my advice on the roll bar would be get one made from some one because they sell for about $200 used plus shipping(also it still would need a repaint) and it would probably be cheaper just to get a custom one.

not familar with the new stuff either. but "if there is such a thing as green tranmission fluid" and if it is 4wd he could have drained the transfer case and added that to the transmission fluid. if thats the case you just need to drain the fluid and put new fluid in the tranmission and transfer case. sounds like he put antifreeze in the tranmission which can be fixed by draining the fluid and putting new fluid in and adding antifreeze to the radiator. and of coarse to change the oil it will be the drain plug on the oil pan just before the tranmission.

my cousin has a out legacy wagon with a factory dual range in it that he some how got his hands on it new from the dealer. and years later they kept calling him wanting to buy it back and of coarse he said no from knowing how rare it is over here. but of coarse in oregon you can find any subaru did you think of the rx? they came in dual range awd but they are hard to find and fairly expessive when you find one.

also drilled out the where the bed covers screw on and tapped in new threads to move up to bigger bolts(instead of screws)which are the bolts with 10mm heads.
