ea81t factory manual questions
turbosubarubrat replied to turbosubarubrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i bought the 84 factory manual yesterday and it comes with the electrical manual also it came with free shipping:banana: so payed $63 which is a fair price for how hard these are to find -
thanks:banana:these things only go up in value so i think its a good investment plus it even comes with the wiring manual. i only payed $14 for my other factory manual but it doesn't cover the turbo because it was printed in 79 but it covers everything for the 1600 and 1800 motors, electrical, and bodies which has really helped me with all the brats i work on.
-
just bought this for it.http://www.ebay.com/itm/360494386473?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649hope it covers turbo:popcorn:or at least have brat diagrams. either way i think its worth it.

Finished rebuilding carb. Also started taking the dash out im going to replace the center part of the harness because the radio part is pretty much screwed beyond repair to be in the brat with out taking it out and using heat shrink on all the wires

continue of 12/27/12 the pieces that held these pieces on fell off so drilled some wholes and used screws looks factory. pics of the rear doors after the power window switch mod had to cut a little piece off the door so the switch would fit but works great put some stuff back together pieces that hold down the carpet sanded and primed there going to be painted black cleaned the windows and put the plastic pieces over the screws on the mirrors the crappy things they gave to connect the hatch lifts kept falling off so i put on bolts with double nuts
-

ea81t factory manual questions
turbosubarubrat replied to turbosubarubrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
so is there a full version that covers all the turbo models? i have a haynes 1980-1989 covers very little, larrry owens cover some, chiltons 1970-84 covers the most of the turbo i have, and factory service manual printed in 1979 that covers everything 1600 and 1800 but not turbo. -
im going to buy a manual for my 83 turbo wagon and want to know if this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-SUBARU-1800-4WD-TURBO-SHOP-SERVICE-MANUAL-/360427077373?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item53eb20befd&vxp=mtrhas everything i need/want in it. i want it to cover all the stuff for the motor and wiring, the reason why im asking is it says supplement. any help would be great and thank you in advance also marry christmas.

Monster wagon vr2 "Monster Sedan" build thread
turbosubarubrat replied to Subafreak's topic in Off Road
when i got my 83 ea81t 3at i noticed that. its weird how they did that i wish the could of at least made them dual range -
is there a ea81t manual online? i looked quite a bit on here and google but didn't find anything useful:(. so anyone know if there is one im looking for one but there is only one on ebay and its a supplement or just wiring books. or if anyone can find some specif things in there books or cars i would be greatful. here is some pics of what is missing in the wiring its missing the wires/connectors for the ecm fuse and a wire/connector for the kick down relay.
-
some pics of it outside before we pulled it in with a tractor:grin: came with a complete extra harness and i have a spare complete harness from a brat i tore apart so i have 2 extra. extra compete front/rear suspension with axles off the brat i tore apart 2 years ago, complete ea82 rear suspension, extra diff, drive lines, and steering wheel.
-
didn't really work on it today but moved it into the another green house that has my brat in it. also got 2 spare sets of keys made here is the exaust it needs a cat. and muffler but who can complain when you get a car for free. stock switch for windows stock ones out of a loyale the loyale switches with the connectors off the stock ones the missing connectors and wires, suggestions would be helpful how to fix
-
did some more work on it today:). i took apart part of the dash because the fuse box is missing the two connectors with wires that go to the ecm and one connector and wire that goes to the kick down relay. so im dealing with some wiring issues:banghead:but i got the two back window switches wired up but they only go down when you use them so you have to use the center console. im going to have to go through trial and error to fix that i probably have a wire crossed or one not hooked up right. anyway i hooked up a battery to it today and everything works but the battery is junk so i had to have a charger on it to test stuff. but everything works so far:banana:pic update maybe tomorrow but i need to find my camera first i think i left it in the wagon:o

i'm thinking of just keeping the auto and later on replace it with a 5 speed d/r, but if its bad i will just swap it over but i'm keeping the auto for now to save money. My dad took in the cracked head in to a place today that only does heads and if the guy can fix it it will cost $165 which i am willing to pay. Because it would be a complete rebuild and resurface.

that is not that bad of a mistake considering when you type fast your going to make typo's, and also they upped the standers at my high on almost everything including all the classes and especially state test. which makes you have to work harder to get good grades even though you don't use half the stuff they teach you in life besides reading, writing, math, and science(and some geography for maps, and computers) which should be the only things i need to learn about to be able to go into automotive field because all i want to do is go into auto-body or become a gas or diesel mechanic. they wasted a ton of money on the high school i got to to build it was $110 million if you want to see pictures type in new sandy high school sandy oregon. and for saying stop what im doing. there is a reason why i ask questions and why i ask people for advise on things for example i ask my dad, another guy with a brat i know in sandy, and a friend down the street that has been in auto-body and automotive for years and his son is a diesel mechanic for semi's, and there is a guy down the road from my house who does custom diffs(makes the gears and cases), lifts, and other stuff like making his a ford ranger propane running on 3/4ton suspenssion or his sammeri running on diesel. so am not going to do something stupid back on Topicmy dad found a lead on ea81t heads at a cylinder head shop:headbang:a guy who works there said they might have a set and wants us to bring in ours to compare
-
yah didn't think of that, if i did i would open up the diff to see a bunch of teeth missing or all the teeth worn off:-\my dad put a diff off a second gen brat on a first gen brat and when he put it in 4wd it the front and rear wheels where spinning two different ways:banghead:so he flipped it over to the other side so the drain plug was up instead of down and it worked fine same gearing to it was weird, but back on topic how long do these trannys last? already heard there not good off road but i dont plan on off roading this, one problem is if i keep the ea81t motor and put a manual trans do i need another computer i have one that has ea81t auto trany on it so would a ea81t computer for manual trans or should i be fine with a manual with the computer i have?
