  1. wow didn't know they still hand carburated cars at all still:clap:because everything is basicly fuel injected, sweet they have dual range again:headbang:
  2. cann't wait to see it in person looks awesome from your thread, next year is going to be my first meet :headbang:my dad and i where to busy this year but i dragged my dad into the subaru's even more after i got my brat which caused him to by 4 more:D
  3. i've heard people getting locked outside there car but inside:lol:you need to make an extra set of keys to keep inside your car incase it happens again
  4. 82-87 should work but to be on the safe side 82-84
  5. i wonder if this one i tore down is in that shipment because its a 86:confused:and i think the cars could have been in 85 because my 85 brats titled as a 86 thats because it was getting shipped over from japan or it was a the dealer for a while
  6. haven't really worked on her hard in while hopefully next week the motor will be in and i get the third eye set up, im going to use my extra grill that is broke and cut a hole in it for the door to open until i get the head light buckets for the bezals i want to use, i've been doing body work on one of my dads 78 brats getting it ready to sell if anyones i interested just say so and ill make a for sale thread for it or its going on craigslist once im done doing the major body work
  7. some of this info is not true my sister had a 87 ea82 gl wagon 5 speed dual range 4wd and it was carburated not fuel injected, we had a 85 gl wagon two wheel drive which was fuel injected so i know the difference, and 90 loyale four wheel drive push button 5 speed and thats thats fuel injected so its a spfi there is a set of lower gears that are stock from the factory but there very rare the only reason why i know this is i rote a paper about subaru's from the 70's-80's for school, wish we didn't sell the 87 wagon it had them in it:(and the wagon only got around 18mpg because of the lower gearing, not sure about the gear numbers right now but it was a huge pain in the rump roast to find
  8. a 86 wagon is a ea82 if it was a ea81 wagon it would be 1981-84 the ,ea82 was made from about 84-94 from 84 to about 90ish they made the gl and dl models then from about 90-94 they made the loyale the same thing as the gl and mikaleda has a 1980 gl ea71 wagon (the ea81 body style but with the older motor, it was made before they released the ea81 motor) and he has a first gen legacy wagon http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=134146
  9. sounds like the carb. needs rebuilt thats what mine needs its probably dumping a little to much gas in the carb. causing it to have higher emissions
  10. doing body work on my dads 78 brat, wire wheeled the paint and rust off where the dents where and putting in bondo
  11. wow:slobber:what u planning on doing with it? i know u said restore but is that repainting it and body parts and calling it good or what
  12. thats what i want to do, first i need a welder:o and then im set the tail gate will get fixed, the wheel well will get repaired, roll bar shortened, and custom front bumper also make rear bumper come closer to the car but i think i can do that with my drill
  13. just saying but if your going to cut it like that it will look off centered so take off the fenders and do the five lug swap then trim the fender where need and then put those fender flares on, cant wait to see how it turns out more pics:popcorn:
  14. that sucks its probably like my sisters geo metro we got a brand new alternator from napa for it then when we put it on and tried to start it up nothing opened the hood and the alternator smelled like smoke went back in to napa and got other one, had to go to another napa 50 miles away though:banghead:
  15. there trailer wheels so there probably easy to find my dad found some 14's like them but he needs one more to have four but we have a extra set of 15's like his but need tires, so i need to drill the hubs for 6 lug swap so we can have a 14's and 15's for my dads brat or for mine:brow:
  16. click "proceed anyway" and you will be on his site i didn't get infected so everyone will be ok
  17. wow looks good:clap: better paint that bare metal or it will start rusting in like a week, u going to do bed liner in the bed? did it in by dads 79 and the bed liner looks great and i did it to the whole bed:Dim going to but it in my 85's bed and undercarriage, i see those fiberglass fenders are warped try using a heat gun to get them back into shape to fit properly or let them sit outside in the heat so they get flexible to bend on the brat properly
  18. welcome to the bored, u need to post your pics on a site like facebook, flicker, thumnail, or any place on a site that lets u post pictures so u can copy the url from them, copy the url one at a time then click on the picture button when replying on a post then paste inside the box and keep doing that, the pictures will not show up when you putting them in but they will show the url when u click on summit they will be there once the page has loaded and we get to see this wagon:popcorn:
  19. jj421 if u want a loud horn hook one up like this guy i know where hes putting a tugboat horn on his 83 brat:lol:
  20. u should check how bad that rust is if its only surface rust wire wheel it off then sand it smooth and prime where the rust was at/bare metal and go to carquest, napa, or a paint place that can make the factory color for u(the paint codes on a sticker under the hood or on the top part of the radiator support around the hood latch) if its bad rust get a new hatch from the u pull it and wait for one thats the same color as yours because u know subaru only made couple million of them:lol:
  21. try running some fuel additive in the tank might clear out any crud still around in the hoses and tank, also subarus where meant to be run on leaded gas NOT UNLEADED so thats why they get crap running through them sometimes and why the engine wears faster than it should
