  5. i see the ea71, ea81, ea82 come in the junk yard about once a month at the u-pull-it in boring oregon:Dbut there usually the wagons:(so i can never find parts for my 85 brat there but there was ea81 that came in less than a year ago and i got a pritty straight door:headbang:a month ago a 1st gen brat came in but think they scrapped it in a week or two after it came in, and i saw a ea71 wagon 2wd 5speed:slobber:come in but had to go somewhere or i would of bought it from the guy before it went in sure all the doors had huge rump roast dents but the trans buy its self was worth it sadly i heard when they took it off the trailer it fell and landed upside down:mad:
  6. put some of the trim pieces on the 4th they look alot better than the ones i had on it before after before(had a bunch of dents in it) after need to put some trim restorer on it but it looks great
  7. can't wait to see some pics:headbang:been working on my 85 for 2 years now and this summer im going to hit it pritty hard and get it back on the road heres a link to my thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=133905
  8. where do u find all of these hard tops:slobber:i like the t-tops but still those hard tops are rare and hard to find:cool:
  9. yah i have 4 1/2 i have 2 78's, 79, 85, and a 1/2 of a 86:Di tore it apart and have everything off it that was still good and when i mean everything i mean everything i have the wheel wells:grin:but i didnt get all the parts i needed for mine because the 86 got hit a 60mph:-\
  10. looks great nice paint job especially for a home job:headbang:, 82 brat right? got to love these brats have 4 1/2 at home:cool:
  11. yah i having that problem with my 85 brat, but im keeping it any way because i love it but i dont like the salvaged/totaled title it has so its going to get moded like ee diesil, ej, or put on frame chevy luv, toyota, or bronco II lifted:Dand get another with clean title and very straight and rust free. but mine is pritty straight and rust free now since new door and fenders and alot of work.
  12. shawn i think he all ready got paid the crappy offer:(, but i know how hard to find these things. the previous owner of the brat i tore apart got $3700 or $4500:headbang:and he only paid $2500 for it:D
  13. saw that u put it back on craigslist:(i think u should keep it, u know u will regret it later;)especially since u put all this awesome work into it getting it back together and looking fantastic:headbang:
  14. nice u got a 85 too:headbang:i got mine when i was 13 so got it over 2 years ago:Di had the original seats with tares in mine too but bought a totaled 86 brat 350 and found a pair of seats that look great, i also got another set from a guy in a trade:D http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=133905
  15. the ea71,ea81,ea82 all fit all fit on the transmission my dads done it before
  16. going to goldendale washington tomorrow to watch the derby:headbang:and on the way back home trading the chrome brush guard for a full set of trim pieces for both the sides, so i get the one i've been needing for two years:D
  17. yes my dad has some ea71, ea81, ea82 and all them are interchangeable and so are the transmissions but u would have to do custom work for fitting the tranny because they bolt on under the car different. if u put the ea81 or ea82 on your current tranny it would blot right on because all of the trannys and motors have the same blot patterns that mount them together:headbang:my dad said u might have to change the bellhouseing but thats it
  18. move up to the ea81 1800cc engine puts off a little more horse power:headbang:and its pritty close to the same as the ea71 1600cc engine u have now and the ea81 are more common for Japanese imports, but u also could use the ea82. the ea81 and ea82 are the way to go if u dont want to do a difficult engine swap. but u could do a ej swap and double or triple your horse power but that would take alot of work, time, and money because u need to make a engine plate for tranny, hook up the ecu, and put the engine in and hook up every thing.
  19. i like it, it looks alot like ronald regans
  20. need to check some motors today have like about 10 to check:-\about 5 ea71, 2 ea81, 3 ea82, except i only know about what year some of these came out of, have 5 subarus right now:cool:so i right down some numbers the earliest one i have came out of a 76 wagon and the latest one is out of a loyale
  21. my dad has 3 brats same as yours a 78,78, and 79 he has 5 or 6 engines for them:headbang:
  22. yah thats going to be a huge pain to get those broken bolts out i have a hard enough time getting the bolts out that i break that are the ones u use 10mm, 12mm, 14mm on:-\so hope u have good luck with that:popcorn:
  23. looks like good project i should know between me and my dad we have four brat projects:grin:my 85 and his 78,78, and 79:D
