  1. u should get a factory manual like me:Dthere rare but well worth finding and well worth buying i would look in my book for u but mines for the ea71 and ea81:o
  2. coundn't u cut out the rust wholes and dents on the roof and weld a piece of metal in the inside of the cab then use bondo on top and make it look really good?
  3. hey my 85 brats the same color too:Dsad to see this one go also but it cant be worse than this 86 brat i tore apart a year ago in two months during the school year:D that thing was parked on the side of a high way in the gorge in oregon and some one hit going 60mph and went air born which made the brat go forward and hit another car while the person who hit the brat ran away bare foot and get tackled by cops, from that hit it twist the unibody so bad the right rear wheel well pinned the tire in and the front passenger wheel rubbed up against the wheel well plus it bent the bed so bad that it touched the drivers seat, it also tore part of the frame for the t-top and ripped the gasket in two. the tail gate took a hour to open with a 8 foot crow bar:horse:amazingly this beast was still driveable my dad drove it a 1/4 of a mile like that on are farm after picking it up for $350:grin:
  4. what u need is a 2nd gen brat lifted with ej swap (wish this was my brat im stuck with stock motor and peugeot wheels for now:D)
  5. my dad had that problem the roll pin is stuck in still but hes selling the car and telling the person good luck who buys it because he broke a ton of punches on it snap-on, craftsman, s-k, and harbor freight using different hammers dead blow, regular hammer, sledge, and ball ping but nothing worked he broke around 20 punches and gave up. and he had the motor out when he was doing this:-\
  6. dude u know u can part it out and the rest of the car u can chop it up and put it in the back of your truck and scrap it:D but through away all non metal stuff thats left and u will get more money for it because its ready to be melted down
  7. the toyota or nissan truck six lug rims with the big hub work on the subaru's too, two of the holes line up and the other two u drill out and u have a winter set that u can beet up with out worrying about scuffing up the peugeot rims:D
  8. first off does the part brat run? if it does check to make sure the ac works and if it doesn't run and its been sitting for years the ac has probably gone bad(the coolant stuff in the thing that sits above/next to the alternator goes bad so u would need to buy a new one but u can get the coolant but its a hazardous material so u have to have a special license to buy it)
  9. yah these trucks are very tough and reliable so there great cars for anyone, i met a guy in The Dallas in Oregon who hauls 2 tons of fire wood with his brat 1 ton in the bed and another on a trail he tows behind it:headbang:
  10. i saw a post on hear and they came to the united states a few months ago and they cost either $4750 or $5750 new just can't remember which one and theres a video on youtube where some put the ee diesil in a vw bug
  11. fastwagn i believe they came of a peugeot 504 or 505 sedan but they can come off the wagon these are the 14in rims but u can get 15's off them too, im running 195/75/14's on them and they rub the very bottom of the fender on sharp turns which can be solved by a adjustment to something in the suspension which will raze it about another inch the peugeot wheels with the tires im running give it a 3inch lift:headbang:the 15in wheels require a lift kit though:rolleyes:
  12. 4 1/2 between me and my dad we have 2 1978's,79, my 85 and the parts from the 86 i tore apart but working on getting another for parts:headbang:
  13. yah sadly its been sitting around 4 or more months because it wont pass deq:banghead:we tried putting in a spare motor and that didn't do much better so putting the import back in with a rebuilt carb. hopefully that solves the problem so its road legal, when that happens ill go and try getting my permit so i can drive her:headbang:
  14. yesterday i found out i need to shorten the winch bumper about a centimeter in width between the mounts so it will fit into the bumper slots so it will secure properly but i will also have to make four bracket extensions:popcorn:
  15. took off hood so my dad can pick up motor with fork lift because already got the tranny/motor separated and radiator out to pull the jap import and drop another motor in.
  16. thinking about using this winch bumper off a 78 my dad got last summer for $100:D and put over my current bumper but have to do some measuring and double checking to see if it will fit, i know i will need to cut four rectangle holes for it to fit through the plastic bumper but i want to make sure that it will fit good before i do it, maybe if it fits good ill make four brackets for it to fit nice:headbang:and put my winch and kc lights on :headbang:
  17. how much did u get them for i got my set for $80 with seat belts and custom fame, my dads for $25 or $35 just cut out, a seat with no frame for $10:headbang:
  18. the spark plugs got corodid and one had a the electrode brake off so it would not fire right after it got good and warmed up, my dad put new spark plugs in it and it runs good now:)
  19. is this after the car is warmer up good? if it is my dad had a problem like that with his geo metro where it would get wormed up and the engine will cut off so he thought it was a fuel problem so he replaced the fuel filters and fuel pump cost over $250 for the parts and he put them on:banghead:and the problem was still there so my dad asked this very smart old man in boring oregon who works on geo metro's as a business what could be wrong with it and he said replace the spark plugs and it fixed the problem so try replaceing them first then the spark plug wires:cool:
  20. not sure but my dad said where going next year because my sister is getting married so where busy for it this year:(next year will be my first year so hoping to get my 85 brat down there and my dads 79 brat:headbang:
  21. i plan on restoring my dads 79 to original its very straight only has a little surface rust that comes off with sand paper or wire brush:cool:
  22. yes your wagon is a ea71 u can put a holley carb on it or upgrade to ea81 or ea82:headbang: the holly gives about 20% more hoarse power:D
  23. from what u said sounds like a ford ranger like my dad had where he blew the tranny on his way back home i know its not a subaru but the engine ran fine after ward just wouldn't move anywhere, also sounds like what happened to my 1985 subaru brat the tranny got blown by the previous owner in about the same way(also the previous owner blew the motor in the same week:banghead:before the trany but got imports from japan with 30-40 thousand with the car:headbang:)
