  1. dont buy the "kit" get a electric choke weber from ebay or craigslist then buy the adapter plate seperate. with some minor bending and tweaking you can use your hitachi throttle lever. with a couple shims.
  2. Yeah, I have been very busy with work, from the east coast to sweden, to monteray CA now. In between time I've had good time to wrench. The weber swap was the easiest automotive thing I've done. I capped off everything and used breathers on my valve covers. just dive in, you'll have no trouble. Im going to get the 91 s10 air filter housing and weber adapter to route cool air into the intake. if you have any specific questions give me a pm and ill get back to you
  3. Found a 1981 ea81 Brat on row52.com so I drove 327 miles and 6 hours to santa rosa CA to pull some parts. Got a set of jumpseat seat belts and a seat frame. Missed out on the headrests. Car is still there has a good canopy top. windsor ca. picknpull.
  4. Rebuild it. put a weber carb on and drive.
  5. Seriously, looks killer!
  6. Thanks for posting the link to the build thread, that engine is BAAAAAAD!!!
  7. So I've been in Sweden the last month, still going to be here another 2 weeks. I saw pooparu listed a set of 8 spoke enkei wheels, I'm definitely going to be going that route. need to find 13s Looking for some gen1 headrests for the jump seats replacing the transmission mounts - bought off rock auto #1040894 replacing the front valance with a cherry one I bought at a picknpull It has positive camber right now, going to fix that. guess how?
  8. Bump, I require more info, The original posters ideas, fab and functionality would be nice to know instead of just a picture.
  9. pour marvel mystery oil down the carburetor lightly as it is running, after that all burns off pour small amounts of water down the carb to steam clean the valves. I know it works, I have done the same thing to two other subarus. then after you get it nice and clean, get a weber!
  10. I'd like to find a set of 2wd gen1 struts as I heard they are somewhat shorter than the 4wd option. Hook a subaru brotha up. Email or PM me, Thanks Could have parts to trade if your are interested Can paypal and pay shipping or local is cool as well Portland, OR area Also if anyone has some gen1 headrests for a brat Id be interested.
  11. Id buy the struts from the 2wd from you if you get it.
  12. here is the thread, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/85842-1st-gen-lowering/ Lots of tips on lowering in this thread!
  13. This guy says his wagon is 4wd so,,,, we need to get ahold of him and ask him what mods he made to his wagon. Im sure he is or was a member. Could have done what i listed above? Username on japanesenostalgiccar.com te37jake
  14. Looks good man, belay my last.
  15. Okay so after some research on here. Get the gen1 2wd struts as they are shorter and cut out 1/2 to 1 coil. or possibly swap the springs from a xt since they are the same diameter and a bit shorter. Reclock the rear torsion bars 1spline, lowest setting will ride the bump stops. I've heard of people removing the bump stops but its up to you. its up to you, do your research and compair it to what i've listed... I will continue researching today.
  16. Yeah, haha pretty much. I will eventualy do it but I am out of country right now. I know a lot of struts are interchangable and springs and so on will fit. It just takes a trip to a parts warehouse for comparison. will most definatly have to do some kind of slight modification though
  17. I also want to lower my car 2 inches all around. It looks clumsy right now, I also think you would get a better ride out of it. Keep us posted
  18. maybe you should just wait on the paint job?
  19. Really like the satin black
