  1. This sounds like an ongoing problem, 22mpgs is low as is, maybe mass air flow sensor needs to be cleaned. I think the front o2 is what controlls air fuel mix and the rear one is just emissions related. Possibly leaky injector o-ring?
  2. If its carbureted, the auto choke needs to be adjusted. If its Spfi code check would be first step, coolant temp sensor also can cause these kinds of problems too.
  3. From what I understand about the inline filters, in 91 there was a TSB on the trans coolers in the radiators getting clogged and causing problems, so they added an inline external filter. I was told by the parts store was its a magnetic filter because of high amounts of metal shavings in these transmissions, and since the phase 2 4eat'a came with a spin on filter I would think this to be a fairly common problem, but obviously it doesn't look that way.
  4. Your probably right, but it still doesn't hurt to ask. Sometimes the people behind the counter may know of a place to get them, even if they need to be custom made, it's worth a try.
  5. I wouldn't worry about them unless either 1. The rubber is cracking or 2. The hard lines look like their very badly corroded. I'm not sure where you would get them, I would try napa or your local auto parts store.
  6. Lmao! That's a good story, what a way to find out your washer pump isn't working.
  7. It should be on the washer fluid tank for the front washer.
  8. Nope if the bottom is differant then you have the other style subaru used, so McPherson struts won't work.
  9. Just FYI on the external reg. alt. to internal reg. alt, the red wire with the white chase that goes into the voltage regulator is the charge light wire.
  10. Yep that's how you test it, if it doesn't pass replace it.
  11. Hopefully the filter change and flush will fix the problem, it could, but the flashing power light seems to suggest something to do with the TCM. Good luck
  12. Pics Of the p.c.v valve on my 80 ea71 (1600) It should be the same on most of the ea series engines. I hope this helps.
  13. It's on the intake manifold, I'll see if I can get a pic of the one on my 80.
  14. Yes, they should look exactly the same as the black strut in my pic, but as long as the bottom mount is the same they should work.
  15. Junkyard or you could buy them new, I doubt your springs are bad that's not to common of a problem. Also I believe rock auto would be a good place to find new springs, if they are the same as pictured above order them for an 84 to ensure you get the right part.
  16. It's probably just the shavings from the rear clutch pack, I wouldn't say that's too abnormal. Just my $0.02
  17. Yep antifreeze raises the boiling point of water also, I forgot that in my previous post.
  18. Cool thank you for that info. I don't know why I was thinking all ohc engines had roller rockers.
  19. No problem I hope you figure out your problem.
  20. Post it in the new gen section, that way it will be seen by all the subaru gurus and is thus more likely to be answered correctly.
  21. Welcome to the usmb. What kind of subaru do you have?
