I really hate these DIY Manuels they are useless for the most part. I have another starter and cylinoid that is good I'll try swapping them out and see what happens. Since it is twelve degrees outside right now I am not going to mess with it unless it just plain goes out. That is another thing it only seems to mess up when it is cold out but it will do it if the engine is warm or not more when the engine is cold though. It is probably the cylinoid going out or it just needs the contacts cleaned as mentioned before.

I did try a search for this and couldn't find anything like this. 1997 legacy Brighton 2.2 auto awd I went out this morning to start this car and move it and when I turned the key to start it nothing happened no click nothing. After a few tries it finally worked battery wasn't low once it started turning over it was strong. Occasionally it will also delay for a couple seconds between when you turn the key and the starter engages. I think it is a relay, my DIY Manuel says a little bit about a relay that the starter goes through but is very vague about the relay and where it is Does anyone know where this relay is or is there something else it could be.

This post is regarding a 91 4eat same trans as the car I mentioned and I ment to say aftermarket inline filter. I have seen several cars with this on it and it would be a reason for the low pressure if it is clogged. Most people don't even know they have an extra filter so they do not change them so they have a tendency to get clogged. They are inline filters similar to a fuel filter and the style on most cars that i have seen them on have no bypass. I just thought I would mention it because it is a simple thing to check for.

I woke up to this Since I don't have a garage it is going to be awhile before I do anything with this car

Even if I fix the originals I still know where I can get a legacy and gl strut assembly and I will still find out if this mod is possible.

Yes the other side is still intact I will take that into the local hardware store and see if they can get them. Thank you for the info.

I just got through reading this thread and I am not sure but what years of injectors are compatible (there is a lot of info in this thread hard to absorb it all) It sounds like 90-94 2.2 is compatible auto or Manuel. What other years are compatible for the 2.2 I have a full set of red top auto injectors out of a 95 impreza and would like to know what they will fit in without ecu swap Btw good thread you guys should make this a sticky

What would I ask for to find these in a hardware store? Should I just ask for thrust bearings?
-
Pic I know this bearing is missing a piece. when I took apart the other side the bearing on the other side had these parts plus one other peice of metal that sat under this peice. This peice consists of a peice of round metal (kinda looks like a washer and a rubber ring. Is this what you call a thrust bearing Mc Brat?

I would like to keep it stock since I have decided to just slowly restore it. I know what you mean by needle bearings but I don't know what a thrust bearing is. I know the ones I got from rock auto were quite different than my originals. I will look around in my photo album for this car and see if I can get a pic posted of what my bearings look like

Ok decided to fix my legacy and just slowly rebuild this car as I can

80 gl 1600 I bought it for three hundred expected to need a c.v ended up needing carb repair, oil pump rebuild, new rad, struts, shocks, and a lot more it is turning into an entire rebuild. But it only has 130k and glad I got it otherwise it probably would have gone to the grave yard Pics in here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=134146 -
A radiators a radiator as long as all the connections you need are there it'll work

How do you tell an OEM CV from an aftermarket?
mikaleda replied to djellum's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Empis work just as good and they cost about $80 brand new. nice thing about new axles is no core! I got to keep my napa reman that has two good boots so if I need parts I have a spare -
Ok this is all the things I can think off that needs to be fixed brakes all the way around they are all worn out Rear bearings Something in the front end hopefully only a bushing Steering rack Alternator I need to change the gear oil in the trans, final drive, and I might as well do the rear end to This is redicules I can't afford this I need a effing car not a pos that needs hundreds of dollars just to get back on the road this is turning from fix this car into a nice car to total restoration!!!!!!!! I have close to 1,000 bucks in this car already and I still can't drive it. Not even to mention all the rust I can't even get the drivers side rear axle nut off because its rusted up so bad!!!
