  1. I was thinking the same thing defiantly don't want it corroding again. Update: well I plugged in my newly rewired light and the light came on but the door didn't move. I think the relay is the culprit, I think when they tried to turn the light on after it was seized it probably fried that part of the relay. I am going to buy one of those dpdt relays and wire it in.
  2. Well napa messed up again voltage regulator won't be in till tomorrow. So tired of napa it's not even funny, I live twenty miles from napa it is a pita when they do this to me especially when neither of my cars are running. Also I plugged in my newly re wired center light and the light came on but the door didn't move. I think the relay is the culprit I think when the motor seized it probably damaged the relay.
  3. Oops forgot this thread I am keeping it. after posting on my build forum that I was going to sell it the people watching my thread convinced me to keep it. I won't be able to afford do this for a while but since I am keeping this car I will post updates as I get to them
  4. I pulled th whole front of my car off and am fixing dents and other small things. I resoldered the connections on my motor (thanks to turbo Subaru brat for giving me the info on where the wires go)
  5. Thank you gloyale that information is coming in handy I think I am going with the relay option but I am tempted to go with the switch since I already have one.
  6. Ok here's my soldering job And here is a pic of the whole unit Now all I need to do is use a little electircal tape around the harness and it'll be ready to install. Next i will have to see if I have to replace the relay, I think it got fried when someone tried to turn the light on when it was seized up.
  7. Nice that would be awesome. Once I get the soldering done I can rewire the relay as gloyal said because it seems to be malfunctioning to.
  8. Pics of center light more to come If anyone knows what wires go to what on the last pic I would appreciate any help the wire colors are red/black, green/white, and green. I am going to be doing more body work today like straitening the front and back bumpers out better and doing touch up on rust
  9. Pic I need to know where to solder the red black, green white, and the green wires onto this part. Ivan could you please look at one of you center lights and tell me what goes where
  10. Nothing wrong with the lamp or switch I just need to know how to re solder the the three wires down on the motor hang on a second I will get a pic and upload it
  11. Lights went off when I unplugged the voltage regulator
  12. It was badly corded wires and also the arm that opens the lid was froze up. I took it apart cleaned the corrosion and put back together. now I need to know how to wire the limiter switch the wires were broke off when I pulled it out. Does any one have a wiring diagram for the third eye? I need to know where the red/black the green/white and green wires go, they are the three wires that go to the limiter switch.
  13. Bad voltage regulator I had the alternator checked then I unplugged the voltage regulator and all the dash light warnings went out. I ordered a new voltage regulator it will be in tomorrow
  14. Okay I ordered a voltage regulator and I pulled apart the front grill and took the cyclops light out. I cleaned the corrosion out and unfoze the arm that opens the lid (it was rusted together) now I need to solder the connections to the limiter switch.
  15. I also think I have fixed the third eye

  16. I already know it'll go farther than my Lego heck I smashed my oil pan on a rock that stuck up two inches but I tell you what the car I regret getting rid of was my sameri I had truck tires on that and I did some serios mudding in that. I am trying to get it going good enough to use I just ordered a new voltage regulator and tomorrow I am going to pull the lower a frame off and inspect the bushings I think doing that will get it road worthy

  17. I'm going to pull the front end apart and find out what is going on with the front end and throw a voltage regulator in it, and use it. The rust in the front is most all of it there is a little in the back but not enough to total it
  18. If I can find a way to get it going good enough to go down the road I might just keep it. I was just looking in a old shop Manuel for imports of that year and it told me how to fix the front end. I also noticed when I was looking at the suspension section That you can change the ride height in the back.
  19. As much as I hate to agree with gd I found a pristine first gen legacy for 950 needs head gaskets but other than that a very clean reliable car it's worth it being able to have all wheel drive and enough horse power to pass people going up hill. I'm not saying you shouldn't fix your old car but maybe it is time to start looking into a new one.
  20. I use raybestos ball joints they cost thirteen bucks I have never had any problems with them
