glad to see you got it mate........cheers, brian

instead of using air to blow out passages when the carb is on the car , you should use carb cleaner.more available pressure and cleaning at the same time.sometimes i found that there were pieces of gunk lodged in a passage, and that was the only way to get it out. be sure to wear eye protection as some of thos3 passages lead right back to the ol' eyeballs. if it does come down to a rebuild it is really easy.not much to those carbs, and most of the tolerances are usually good.just need to be cleaned really well.cheers, brian

EA81-EA82 Driveshaft length differences?
monstaru replied to Numbchux's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you should measure the relief the driveshaft has at full exxtension and sitting normal so that you know how much it moves during travel.that way you don't end up stuffing the thing into the tranny when you go over something with the rear suspension.........cheers, brian -
ok, i'll bring it back...........but i'm keeping the something special i found in the glove box. cheers, brian

to the top.........anyone ? -
when i measured it out it appeared that a nice subframe could be fabricated that would mount to all the stock locations with the perfect amount of room for a 4 link setup to be built on. i had the frrame and axles under the brat checking width and legnth. the toyota axle up front would render the best outcome i believe.it is skinny enough to pull off, but wide enough for a good stance. i mean basically the 4 link comes from the center (front to back ) of the vehicle.so whetever you are mounting it to should live there.(welded to ************ and bolted to piss.......)

if you are coming through spokane, and are headed to wcss10 please stop by and grab some parts i need to get there.i am willing to contribute to the beer fund, food fund or whatever is fair......been trying to get some parts to jerry(bratsrus1), and zap for a while. it would be cool if you could grab some fenders i have over there from turbone, but not completely necessary. bueller?bueller? cheers, brian

i have driven 80 downhill in my 4inch lifted brat and onto the bridge crossing the columbia river at vantage and been scared ************less from the wind off of the river hitting the car. that is the only time that i thought i would lose control. and man was it fun........ other than that i drove my brat for like a tleast a year and a half like that........cheers, brian oh and grid deck bridges suck.........whatever though. vote no for swaybar in 2008 on lifted rigs.

well, i was a little slow on this ,but here goes, why are people not utilizing some sort of mobile in car charging unit like an alternator?if the batteries in system can take more amperage than the alternator is putting out it would be essentially charging them right?of course having whatever regulation you would need for the amount of amperage you would be dealing with. i mean , how do you figure out what size motor you utilize for the whole setup.i understand there would be standards for tranny driven units, but what about direct drive for an individual wheel?cheers, brian
