  1. ok, so the axles are free of the toy frame.i am awaiting a shipment of tow dollies to our favorite cheap store so that i can make the frame rolling under the body a much easier transition for me.i'll get some more pics tomorrow. welp,now i have to build a welder.i believe i will start a seperate thread about that.cheers, brian
  2. very nice......seems to me a popular design.allows just the right amount of eyeball when needed.good job.don't forget to paint so you don;t ahve to put them down from the "rust".cheers, brian
  3. yeah, the gussets on the bottom were on the menu anyhow.just had not decided how to cut them yet.:cool: if you look closely i had to add a spacer for more meat to be attached to the base of the post.the jury was still out on how to attach them properly. on to figuring the frame under it now. that is this week if i do not have to work.cheers, brian
  4. ok.so not exactly the suspension you were wanting.... but , none the less.suspension it is. here ya go nope , nothin under there!removed the rear today.she is only hanging on the gear in these pics.the jackstands are there for safety reasons.(obviously.) the rig yo....... front shot....sorry about the mess.:cool: my helper today.now thats how you do it right. cheers,brian

  6. originally i was on that track as well. progress has been slow this week as i have gotten a little work back.as we speak i am out to the garage for more wood lovin..... then off to the monster truck show with my daughter....have you guys seen her? sorry ,random pic of my fiuture through my brood. cheers, brian
  7. until a rock works its way up and bends the exhaust just hard enough to yank an exhaust stud out . and then you helicoil it and think it is good.until the motor heats up the fissure crack you created and all of your oil comes pouring out on your way to work.and you have to switch motors because the head is screwed! only happened to me once.but , just sayin.i put a full skidplate on after that.cheers, brian:lol:

  10. uhh, kyb's are a very good dependable shock. i have used them on wagons and brats.have beat the piss out of them and have never had any problems.alot of the factory placed shocks were actually kyb.the upgraded version is designated as the"gr2".i would go with those. cheers, brian
  11. at least your actually workin on the car. i'm still *#@*woodworking to be able to work on the car!:-p looks good.are you gonna take it through the firewall?thought you said about takin it into the cabin?? anyways, if that is the case,there is that big rubber plug on the passenger side of the engine bay.i ran my battery cables through it when i relocated them,it is agood spot.it comes out inbetween the dash and engine bay.pretty much over the passngers feet really.looking good bro. i wish i lived on the west side sometimes.cheers, brian

  15. ok, so did not get as far as i thought.baccaruda had a noise in his drivetrain to take care of.geez.....some poeple. anyways.....enjoy the wood working pics the woodworking station the blocks all cut up for the bottom pieces.and getting sceerewd....... somebody stole my windshield!!!! the master plan hahah:rolleyes: starting to take shape....... finished product...... hoisting materials. well, it was the shortest long day .did not get started until about noon 30.so by 6 baccaruda and i had the main posts whipped into shape. tomorrow i will appropriate some more wood from the recycling dumpster and cut some gussets for the top mounts and main posts. i am a little behind on buying actual parts for the rig because of this little side project.but will be back on track soon.cheers, brian

  19. check your shocks?it probably is the torsion bar, but i have bent a shock and had it act like that.cheers, brian

  21. well, i have the garage cleared out.tomorrow we start building the hoist.i'll take some pics.won't be lifting it off of the ground yet.still have to acquire the block and tackle i want.but we'll get her built anyhow. pickedd up some 1 ton straps with looped ends.these will not only help with the holding of the body,but in recovery situations later on.twas a good excuse to buy some recoverry gear. anyways,pics and such tomorrow.cheers, brian

  25. these bushings are set in.they are not replaceable as far as the local subaru dealership states.i've tried before.i just went to the yard and got a different one that looked good. get ahold of jamie at genuinesubaruparts.com.she could tell you for sure.cheers, brian
