  1. unless you like art projects consisting of diffs, and trannies.
  2. all hatchbacks are just like all brats.ea81. now, are you calling a three door a hatchback? who knows.when you are looking at the motor does it appear to have timing belt covers?i am not being a smartass ,just saying that there are numerous questions like this asked daily.the search is your friend. the motor designation is on top of the motor in front.possibly covered ny grease.does it have power steering, because that could obstruct your view.it would be an ea81 designation , or ea82 designation. just a little info for ya.but generally if it is a d/r tranny7 with a 5 spd it would be an ea82(timing belts)and would not be considered a hatch.it would be a three door.and look like an rx in bodystyle.some people have been known to call wagons hatchbacks as well. get a pic.sure determination.cheers, brian
  3. well, if you guys were not amazingly gargantuate:grin: i still don't understand how you fit in brats. i think you should just give it to me because your truly uncomfortable in it......(jedi mind trick). glad you found a roll bar.cheers, brian
  4. the pitch stopper is another animal all together.i figure a guy could do it like p.k. does with a lift.he needs a mounting bracket that will fit on the upper mount bolt for the ej motor on the passenger side.oh, and take everything you can get your hands on,you never know when you want to change directions on something. and just to clarify,an electric fan from a mazda mx6 can be mounted out front, rather thin,or inside.out front do not know about with third eye.i ended up mounting one out front like that, but initially i had a stock ea81 series fan stuck in there.it did fit,but like i said ,rather tight.course i did not have power steering mounted either.cheers, brian
  5. i have a stock radiator in with my setup.so no reason you couldn't leave the third eye in.i left a fan in stock location.it is tight, but it works.cheers, brian ps give a pm if you need any pics jb.glad to help.
  6. yep, just went a ************ed it up after that.....
  7. yeah, id on't think that until i get the rest of the system worked out thatyou would want to drive it on the street.i have plans to put a modified VW exhaust up front so that you can alleviate the loud aspect.but still get the performance.who knew that performance exhaust for VeeWee's were like 200 to 300 bucks. but she does sound good.kinda like a drag car when you open her up:grin:
  8. do some research on ebay and you will find these.rather cheap too.i put some in monstaru and have loved them all the way.cheers, brian
  9. "My El Camino DID NOT shrink when I washed it!" thats hilarious!!!! i never thought about that......
  10. i literally did it in a day and a half.going slow.a few hours prep,an hour there an hour here.then you vcan bust it out.there is no time if you don't make time.
  11. i hate you! i have wanted an fj for along time. actually i would like a diesel version.i'm so not saying the designation.
  12. if your not a real brat owner you just wouldn't know.i love both of mine.i don't give them nearly enough attention lately, but i love them.
  13. there is a slight difference in length, smart rump roast...... at least as per jerry asking me anyway... and it is 4wd both iirc.......
  14. i did a swap from a 2.5 to a 2.2 last winter and only had to move the accessories over.ie:alternator,a.c. ,oretty much the intake as well.it was very easy.the hardest part of all of it is the timing belt and that is simple as well. have faith in your ability to read and you can conquer this project.quit paying someone else and you can save some money.it is literally a plug and play affair with a bunch of new gaskets. on the other hand it does sound viable that the timing is simply off.cheers, brian
  15. #1.pay jerry for his kit,it's worth it.......$100 #2good ea82 flywheel,xt6 pressure plate(regular will work, but while your in there type of thing) #3install jerry's kit, install tranny. #4 either get ea81 driveshaft/line modified to fit,or make mounts on tunnel for ea82 driveshaft/line jerry will need to know if there is lift to know aboiut length for shifter shafts.specific enough?not tryin to be a smartass..... give me a call if you have specific questions.
  16. seats, dash all dash panels and consoles for shifters and change are all that will fit from other cars. anything associated with the doors will need to be from a gen 2 brat or hatch. back wall and roof are strictly brat items. remember, gen 2 brats went from 81 to 87 in the states.so do not get your confusion on if it is an 86 or 87.still ea81 oriented.
  17. ej2x lightened vehicle go with 4.11 gears ecm mods for advance race fuel and a big right shoe 4 core aluminum radiator from a chevy truck lots of gatorade,in bottles,or just carry a milk jug for pee.
  18. take an old cv boot that is not ripped, apply a shift knob through the greasy side and add a hose clamp to attach to tranny. i drove around like that when i did my swap as i did not have a reliable driveline. must have been at least 300 miles like that.just out of curiousity, why are you not doing this yourself?
  19. define:"fit" you can make almost anything fit.thats what big hammers and sawzalls are for. do you mean has anyone done it?well then that would be the question to ask.cheers, brian
  20. springfield 1911.i am in the process of building a springfield gi up with some much desired mods.it will pretty much be just like the customs they sell.i really like old clanky gi models ,really i do.but 3.5 lbs versus 5.5 to 6 is way easier on the pointer if ya know what i mean. i personally like to build my stuff.but this is the first one i have done since i was a lot younger.things sure have gotten cheaper(cost).cheers, brian
  21. nice wagon man.....you know he's already thinkin,"when i drive it,its gonna....." sweet ride
  22. obviously building another wheeler i see. god job on the find.cheers, brian
  23. obviously not mounted, but i ran this one for 2 yrs.barely covered up the y pipe.but did it's job more than once.
