  1. no doubt, once a hero to many with a trip across the lands, then nada, zip, nuthin. good to see you didn't lose the faith. cheers, brian
  2. or you can just buy my struts that have ten miles on them and rx springs to boot.
  3. get rid of the auto.that will make your entire life simpler. the vacuum should be routed from the intake, not the carb itself. and if it is it can be rerouted with a modulator on the intake
  4. so , you drive a tan/yellow ea81 wagon of 82ish vintage. you were buying 4 rims/tires from pull and save that came off of the coupe with the painted spoke wheels(some sort of blue). was next to you at the light for argonne off of montgomery in a big black and grey dodge diesel. will you sell me your car? nice ride. i would like to see it closer.cheers, brian
  5. i had more than one occasion that monstaru acted like that on passes then went back to normal until another pass cam ealong.sometimes in the same day, sometimes months later.usually was able to pull over let her idle for a bit then rock on.of course i change out allkinds of parts like i change socks.cheers, brian
  6. when the world goes to ************,you won't be able to render your own fuel for a roo...........i have both.subie and a diesel.think about the future.
  7. i had a machinist friend of mine look into making up the second option in that link.the axle disconnect.he said that it would be about 350 to 400 bones to get one made for me.which is about the same cost as ordering one from them as a 1 of.i believe that is the company i spoke to about it.it has been some time.they said at one time that they were approached for a late 70's subie and had done some research on the axle.who knows?
  8. excepting the fact that those disconnects are horribly expensive it is a good idea.i tried hunting one down for just about anyearly sube and the closest i got was ea71.and they were nowhere to be found.did you find a link to this or something nipper?
  9. you can use the thin sheet metal spacer from behind the flexplate as a pattern.i have several if anyone needs one.i have also been "on the wagon" of doing this mod yourself.and people just do not want to listen.all of the unbalanced issues that one hears of are from vehicles without the little "nub" (being the end of the crankshaft).just silly.and if i have not broken a bolt yet from torque, it will not happen.there is no jarring motion.
  10. starting here is your best bet.if you still don't have luck give me a call. i have more time during these seasons. cheers, brian
  11. save up to get a tubing bender.and then we can both play.do you still want that rack?cheers, brian
  12. i am not bashing.simply asking questions, and giving advice. if you don't like it,sorry.just remember, you are a long way from being the first to have these ideas.i don't care if i am right mate, but i do care if people get hurt in the end.where are the first set you did?mine went back to the recyclers.........unfortunately video won't do you any good on this one.the final result can only be found with each individual hub.
  13. first of all drilling these without a proper jig and mill is ridiculous to sell.if you use these on your own rig...cool.but don't go about setting yourself up for failure. have you even done a set? cause if you haven't.you should wait to see how it goes before you try an offer them to the public.just 2 cents from someone that spent countless hours attempting to do this and a ************ ton of cash on drill bits ,hubs, and various other tools to accomplish it.(ie center punches,oil,etc..) if you want to make money ,go get a job.don't put others in danger through their trust of you.
  14. *itch.......... good for you.enjoy those non-noises,and non-vibration,and what are ya gonna do with out that oil spot everywhere you go?cheers, brian
  15. when jim lowered his brat he took ea 81 struts and ground the bottom spring mount welds until it was loose.then moved it down and had them welded.would be tricky as not to boil the oil per say,but it worked out and looked ************in hot too.your fairly industrious,i imagine you can figure out what i am saying.cheers, brian
  16. ok, back to the show....zaps got the mud pit......you got my help while i'm there.you know that. i offer my services to check it out as well. who has trail duty? i beleive we will have our vacation around that time too.we wanted to go to the oregon coast anyhow.this is going to be ************ing sick...... huge fan of the dates as well.cheers, brian
  17. hey rog,you still want the weber?get ahold of me.cheers, brian
  18. i can't tell you how many times he(^) and i have discussed this............
