HELP tranny won't go in

regardless if the clutch is aligned or not(trust me ,i have not hade a tool for the las t three engine outs)it is something you need to step away from it.get back at it tomorrow and i bet it will happen ....like a fairy showed up and put them in the correct alignment position. seriously.just because the shaft is aligned with the bearing does not mean the splines are aligned with the clutch. -
i am shooting for a 300 cfm carb.it looks like i will be making an adapter plate.

the bolt pattern on the manifold is actually designed for a holley 2300,which is actually the same pattern that ford ran on a lot their cars in the 60's ,70's, and 80s.considering that the mustang was a recieving vehicle for that bolt pattern there are several options for those.i have my eyes out for a specific cfm carb that i would like to use for this application. the spark is coming from an early 80's ford escort.

the thing about using a heim joint is you might hAve to have a limiting strap.which would just add ,like a bajillion horsepower anyway:Flame:
-
get ahold of me if you need to.with a little prodding i can find some resources around here that build race cars......they use heim joints all the time.if you get me some measurements i can possibly mock one up for you.or just send me a control arm and some measurements.

oh, i'm sorry.i thought posting in a public forum and asking for experrience was asking for an opinion.next time i'll not give my experrience with the trouble of doing something that is not constructive in and of itself.the 3 spd speaks for itself.the 4eat is prone to sensor issues when not hooked up to it's own harness(experience here being putting an auto tranny into a manual car and butchering the harness in the process of it).if i wishedd to bash his opinion,i would have.constructive is subjective here.to me , it is not constructive to me to take away from his post like you have drawn me out to do.but am personally getting tired of self-appointedd moderators. i guess the new answeer for everrything is to just say,i dunno, why don't you try it.now how constructive is that? sorry gloyale.

ok, so i took one out and what i found was that it seemed like it was not going to compress while others depressed easily, but not to easily.then i found the ball bearing on the bottom and pushed it in.while oil squirted out it obviously depressed. i guess the question i am getting at is:at what tension should i reinstall these things at? cheers, brian

but then you still have an automatic, and when you realize after driving that it is a slushbox, you will wish that you just went the other way. in other words, the auto trannies that come in subies are not very good gearboxes.and they are not worth the trouble to try an switch around like you would a chevy bellhousing.

EA flywheel drilled to EJ pattern??
monstaru replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
yeah, what are the issues with that? -
i love naysayers, drew.if you actually had any concept of the etherial i would consider giving your comments a second.but since you don't ,shut the ************ up. i have one of your bliinker deals...... anyways, clearance ,as stated before, will not be an issue.the intake itself was purchased for an ej -carb-swap. it(the intake)i found out could be by a company called RAF.they are an aviation company from canada.i am pretty sure the previous owner made it ,or had it made for him locally though..relatively easy from what i can see. the gentleman that i got it from took it out of service of his gyro for his EFI stuff to go back on.it "had" a large dent in one of the runners that is now mostly gone thnaks to some heat massage:grin: . to dangerous to be in service thousands of feet in the air,but no trouble on the ground:banana: .

EA flywheel drilled to EJ pattern??
monstaru replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
from what we have figured out it should be able to fit onto the back of the motor with the spacer from a flexplate? over it so that you can mark the pattern..... -
what has four legs,a flat back with holes, and is silver?
-
uhhh,where?duh

did you let it down on the ground?is it still just the drivers side?
