LSD conversion question?
monstaru replied to Jerry DeMoss's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if you have a snap on guy that runs around town you can get one off of him for around 20 bucks i think.and they don't tend to break. -

Weber Install Q about Valve Cover intake
monstaru replied to Ryanb's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
what you did is what i did.and it does eem to work.i remember seeing it like that on edrach's brat and pretty much modeled it after that.i got rid of the rest of the canister as well.i am still trying to decide if that was a smart idea.cheers, brian -
it is definitely a process.but well worth it.i had about three broken bolts and hqad to drill 'em out and fix 'em with a tap.they have held for a;lmost two years and are going strong.been taken out multiple times as well.cheers, brian

Clutch cables are 83 and 84 the same cables
monstaru replied to smelly_cat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ther are two types of cables from that time and place.one is super simple, and one is a ***************.if you had a hard time ,lets just hope it was inexperience and youth thwarting your install.if it was because you have the hard install then take your drivers side seat out and give yourself some room to work.oh, and it is pretty much mandatory that you drink a beer when doing this as not to breakanything.cheers, brian -

so i went and got a fan relay today.hooked up both fans.made sure the fans were spinning the right way(one was going opposite the other day).and it works.i don't know why.i don't even want to know why.but it does.and i am out of ************ creek.cheers, brian

i don't.and neither does napa,or schmucks,or motion. or,or ,or ,or.so she(monstaru) got a newly resealed motor this weekend.a tad bit of a face lift and another ground wire.the only thing that is different from before as far as the motor is concerned electrically is an 8 guage ground wire.so it started yesterday on my way to work, temp rising(but not registering on guage) and no fan chiming in.get off work,go to motion, get fan thermal switch....go home, put in thermal switch and switch out water temp sensor as well.awesome.get's up to temp and fans come on,intermittent like.then eat a fusible link, and there fuse in the block.fix fusible link.completely rewire fans, and put in new fuse.no workie.i finally get them working and start blowing fuses.unplg one of them and am golden.i really like two of them.so here i sit wondering what the ************?look at ondemand, htkysa, and hanes referance.ALL STATE THAT I HAVE A RELAY!ummm,i don't.and only think i know where the plug in is for it.i realize that it is supposed to be on the passenger side strut tower.but,i have about 5 or 6 plugs on that side that go to nothing.i seem to have good luck with gremlins usually, anyone have a pic of your relay or where the hell i can get one.......cheers, brian

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=MON&mfrpartnumber=55802&parttype=50&ptset=A...... go to "see all vehicles this product fits" just a comparison.the shocks PK is talking about are the same shocks that folks have been talking about for the chevelle and several others. and the 5241's by rancho are a good bet. i did not like the ride due to carrying alot of work related heavy stuff(500 pounds approx).i only took them offroad once and was satisfied.but like i said, only once.i have had edelbrock shocks for a lifted jeep, rancho's for a lifted jeep, rancho's for a lifted chevy truck(way to long)monroes for a sube, kyb for a sube and gabrielle's for a sube.by far the monroes and kyb's rocked it for what i need as far as work was concerned.the rancho's had a damn nice ride when i was unloaded.i think they are worth it.but once again i only got to take them offroad once......the biggest thing about the rancho's is that they are a push and pull type of action.which makes the dampening really sweet.the edelbrocks were gone in a few weeks just from jobsites, and roads to jobsites.that was a waste of time and money.the acton without the horseshoe is definitely worth a shot.it is a tad different for sure.

did you measure it?it is a pretty precise measurement.there should have been a small square in your rebuild kit.and a measurement on the back of the instructions.i've only rebuilt a few of the hitachi's,so i don't recall the measurement, however, the float is a very integral part of fuel flow .if you are getting to much,it is most likely the float.

well, first of all damnn.... second of all damnnnnnn.... and finally, your steering wheel is on the wrong side, that supercharger will never work right, and you can send it to me when you figure that out. cheers, brian

baccaruda and i have talked about this many times.i truly believe that a removable hard top would be killer on something like that.with a lift gate on pins to make it a two piece removable hard top.
-
float setting sounds like it is to high.....just a guess.but sounds like that to me:grin:
