i agree with the choke theory.i chased a choke problem for days once.look at it this way,at least your fuel system is good now.

you know i just made brackets ,and bolted it to the tunnel.i also flipped the carrier bearing upside down.that gave me a tad more clearance there as well.i have driven it alot ,even road trips with 70+ on the freeway for long distances....and have had no problems.very little vibration at all.i just centered it in the tunnel with the simple design of the brackets.

back to approach angles.the brat is right at 38 degrees.with the bumper on it right now,i am losing about 10 degrees. 4 inch lift in front with 26 inch tires. when i am done with the new bumper it will be approaching 50 deg.that is without the core support cut out.

i have had a weber on three engines now,and have had no probs at all with any type of overheating.and i destroy motors.

i was trying to find one for a long time.it seems that if you found one for an older ranger or samurai that it would fit with some adjustment.it is really hard to find something like that used around here that has not been in an accident.so i looked at new prices and just forgot about it.if you can find one for cheap,do it.i was going to make a 2x4 piece of square tubing and mount it up close to the core support and mount it on that.to keep your approach angle good.pretty much just take your bumper off and you will see that you have a few options.if you were to make one,that tubing would be super easy to bend with a cheapo bender.use a hole saw in a drill press to notch the ends that you want to weld an voile'.

i'd say it would be awesome.i was trying to get this guys rx for a while to do the same thing.obviously didn't work out.so i am all for you to do it!just because i wanted to see it done,well.

i went from a 4 spd to a 5spd and get a better top end.i am not so wound out going up hills ,get better acceleration.i have 27 inch tires and a weber which help as well.in my 4 spd i found that i was struggling to get to speed on the freeway .with the 5 spd i can accelerate even in 5th.i can maintain about 65 mph going up 6% grades in 4th at about 3500 rpms.huge bonus.

i need to look at a map.you are to close not to do this.i imagine baccaruda and i could both come up.that would be sweet.
