  3. i was curious about putting ej22t heads on an n/a block for the valvetrain upgrade and just blocking of the turbo oil outlet thingy that i do not know the proper name for.as well as plugging the oil lines.any benefits?any hinderance.difference in using a closed deck head on an open head block?most of these questions will not make sense.
  4. yeah, that works until the exhauast starts creeping in....
  5. two words......hardtop convertible......ok abunch more words....with roll bars for when it is sunny and good seals for when it rains....
  6. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=3748&d=1144307122 is this not it?
  7. gck axles.....should be able to do a search for them.i've been through a few axles then found one of these used to replace with and have not needed to replace it yet.about a year's time.
  8. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=A1C&mfrpartnumber=31857&parttype=218&ptset=A we built this one.we did not use his little "missing" picture that is supposed to go on the guage. it is fairly obvious where the noises are coming from if you can pay attention.....ie. have help to turn crank and you watch the guages and listen.we kinda were flying by the seat of our pants ,but i think we nailed it.i will be checking the headgasket on that side in the next week or so. this motor runs very well actually.i drove the piss out of it several times.granted these were short jaunts around the neighborhood, but i romped it to see if i could break it after the compression test.i thought it was a stuck valve when it was in the car.we seafoamed it and it did not "free"itself i thought.but now, i am leaning more and more towards the gasket, especially with the spark plug hole next to number one getting air.regardless....it is a head problem.not deeper.
  9. ooh...ooh can i get the part number for that alternator belt?please and thank you:grin: oh yeah, man thats sick mate.............cheers:drunk:

  11. no i don't have a shop manual......and in my defense i am on medication right now:grin: these darn new falutin motors are gettin the best of me bubba.....read"not a fng, just not paying attention" oh and yeah..it would be nice to have a manual...
  12. 170 horse what?give us a platform bro..............the shnit,your number,whatcha ride in?
  13. so, am i missing something here.i searched all over and ,internet and tool stores.is this a special torx?an e-16 does not fit,an e-18 is to big(according to caliper measurement) what the hell do i use?
  14. as close as we could get it.i also thought burnt valve actually, due to the odd sound it was making as it was releasing the air.it was sputtering,as opposed to freeflow.......weird.mind you,we do not pretend to know what we are doing.the engine is out of the car,and we lined everything up as good as possible.regardless of this....i think i need to pull the head.burnt valve or not.something is up.anything else?
  15. well, baccaruda and i did the best with what we know how....(our brains and some beer) .since number 1 was the problem area on the compression test we decided to work backwards and get readings from 4 down to 1.4,3,and 2 were pretty consistent as far as comparisons go.but on the #1 there was very little resistance and air was escaping through the # 3 spark plug hole.it did not escape through the #1 hole when we did #3.no leakage worth mentioning anywhere else....oil filler, coolant passages etc.....we are thinking head gasket......whatcha got?
  16. summit racing.i dunno the webaddress, but they have a grip of fuel cells.
  17. i so want in on this......edrach ,will the rectangular valve covers fit on a non hydraulic and vice versa?i have three motors downstairs and all of them have the slant at the back of the valve cover.if what you are saying is true then i can start working on them.cause i have extra parts.how do you tell internally?and yes i searched earlier on this.any help is appreciated.later........
  18. i've entertained this idea a million times.i've ran through a bunch of different scenarios for suspension front and rear.there is a way to do it i think.......but walker is right.lotsa bucks involved.a toyota IFS could be fitted to the front ,same with the rear .they sell kits to turn some of the 80's model toys into prerunner type vehicles.but that alone could kill the bank with the proper accessories,ie. shocks, tires and whatnot.beside the fact that you would have to find a completely, and i mean completely rust free car and strip the paint and seam sealer, seam weld it like they do rally cars and then build a full cage for it.you might as well make a 4 seater sand rail and use a sube drivetrain.
  19. i have a few lying around and am sure if you paid shipping you could have one if you needed it.
  20. if i'm not mistaken thats a-dog.cool vid though.love the music
