  1. ummm....you mean fuel pump and it will do fine.i can't remember the exact psi,but it does suffice.oh, and you should search for "the official weber thread".there is a grip of info in there. it is located in the offroad forum.
  2. the byb kit on my car was one of the first hybrid steel aluminum kits.i have aluminum lift blocks and steel strut tops/ shock mounts.it works fine.i don't know about the cost effectiveness of doing it yourself.but you might get ahold of byb seeing as how they are over "there" and compare .however, you seem to have a couple of connections at the right places that could afford you a bit of material for nothing maybe?and well labor is going to be yours.if you build it ,you will come..............
  3. well, that is what i did.my mind does not always agree with my rationalizations.so i guess that i'll be alright.thanks..........
  4. how many of you forgot and how many of you figured out a way to take care of it....? here is what i did.please tell me if this is viable, cause the damn thing runs like a raped ape now:grin: obviously i forgot to transfer the timing marks, being the genius that i am:rolleyes: well i needed to adjust my valves.this is a problem.i just went around the engine in succession to adjust my valves and found tdc on all cylinders.as i found tdc on the vcylinder at hand i adjusted the valves.i also made 0 and 180 degree marks at tdc for #1 and #2.then i timed it.how possible is it that i am pretty damn close?because it sounds different, and has more jack to it's jill.
  5. your best bet is to use aftermarket shocks.and you will have to either search or do your own internet search to find what will work for you.as far as the front goes you will find that the ea-82 series does have the most travel, but you will have to have a different strut top or drill for them to fit on your gen 1.there is alot of info on here that can be had by the search button.and the faq's.
  6. get a gas can, fill it up and run it till it stops running.i'm sorry, but that is the only way you will truly tell.it is not advised to do this, but every vehicle is different in this sense.for instance, penelope,my old wagon, had about 20 miles after the light was on.my four runner has about 40 , my volvo had about 60.my brat has about 30.all of these vehicles pushed to the absolute limitand some of them dying in the middle of the freeway. but now i know.
  7. the kit you should get would be designated by the numbers on the rear of the carb.they are usually extremely hard to read.i would suggest taking the carb off and finding them.if the numbers are unlegable then you have to see what type of vacuum secondary on it.the larger secondary is obvious,it is located on the bottom end of the carb.this is common on the older ea-81's.the double vacuum secondary is much smaller and placed on the top end of the carb .by that alone you can decide which kit to get.regardless of what kit you do get a basic rebuild can be accomplished.it is nice to get the right one though.
  8. man, been waitin for months..... do you need a cd....i have a cd.....
  9. don't try to guess....it will make you insane.
  10. i was so gonna keep this one under wraps as i usually do. but i just could not stand it anymore.i will keep you up to date.it will probably be a while before i gather all the stuff. plans are to hard wire the tail lamps to a plug.take the rear diff and axles off.put a pump setup to the gas tank so that i may utilize it for the bikes.and have an access spot to a covered area in front.man i wish i had photo shop.
  11. what do you do when the front of a brat is rusted out but not the back?keep the back ,right.what good is the back you say?we'll soon find out won't we.
  12. they don't track on corners when flat towing stock either.
  13. totally, i think i have most of the hard parts for you to get. give a call,we can set up a time to hang out.later ,brian
  14. one side at a time! no really, i had to cut the inside mounts off of the other car,and do the bucket swap.then line it up the best i could to mount said brackets and i worked from the left to the right.took an entire day.but the results are sweet.
  15. okay, been done for a while......but i embarked on a twisted mission amongst horse trading and camel flogging to come to this here conclusion ,and i like it .what do you think? old new[/url]
  16. finally..... 86 brat,4 inch byb(1 inch of my own)5spd d/r ,kyb fronts w/rx springs, rear shock of the day(i must have hade about 6 sets on that i don't like.)14"pugs with sliperators.oversize alt, roundie conversion with projections, bumpers courtesy of smittybuilt and a couple of wrecked cars.weber, dualed out exhaust,cb yada yada.......
  17. axles come and go.flex is there forever.........i don't even run swaybars.but then again noone said i had all my marbles either.fab some up.
  18. t-case,solid axles,subframe,and then there is accessories.
  19. even a remotely cheap set of lenses and some good bulbs can get you on your way to a cleaner grill.
  20. granted if you used them everyday they would probably take a huge ************ on you.but the harbor freight versions have taken a ton of struts apart for me.if you pretty much figure on using these for a few times, don't spend big bucks for them.
  21. no, but when you do send pics.i have been thinking of doing this myself seeing as how i cannot go a day or so without bashing the litttle bugger.
