Anyone live in Cour De Lene Idaho?
monstaru replied to sheppie62's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i live in spokane washington.i will see if i can check on that stuff for you.....and if you come up we will have to meet up sometime..... -
that is my biggest prob.....no camera.....baccaruda can attest that i push limits , with everything usually.even borrowing his camera:lol: just got have time when he and i can go out at the same time.soon enough.he is expecting his lift soon and his motor swap is almost done , at least i hope so.i have not seen it in a while.i drove it hard after doing the brakes and front suspension yesterday.on some pretty damn undeveloped roads today, going to and from work no less.the front struts seem to be doing well, and the brakes f-in rock.....man do i wish i had done that a while ago.anyways, gonna take it to the orv park this weekend.see what the suspension can do and see if i can really rally her.....

really all that would need to be done is to find an axle that is the same diameter as our early soobs and cross application is possible.research ,research , research....

ok, so i have been waiting to get tires forever it seems like.and being the logical person that i am (damn geminis) i decided that since i am onroad more than offroad i went ahead and got the liberators in 225/70/14.these were definitely not my first choice, not knocking them , but not my first choice.when i put the tires on i also put some rancho shocks on the back.tomorow i am coupling some kyb struts with some rx springs .my suspension seems to be coming together as well.and then tomorrow afternoon it is time to see if i can break anything.

wheneve i name my stuff i usually give it names that pretty much all relevance to the vehicle itself.my last soobs name was penelope.she was named after the girl in speed racer ,because i know if she could have, she would have been a race car driver.because se drove me to the edge and back several times when i first got her.......does that make sense?

EA 81 Hub Replacement Questions
monstaru replied to NV Zeno's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if you are taking the knuckle off you need to remove the ball joint.if you are doing the hub it is very simple.take off your wheel, put your parking brake on and spray those bolts with pb blaster ,soak and unbolt.take a flathead screwdriver you are not afraid of messing up and stick it in the seem where the hub meets the rotor, pound lightly to seperate, then tap the outer rim of the hub concentrically until it seperates.voile',replace with other hub and gently tap it back on making sure it is lined up with the holes and splines on the axle.... -
check the electric choke as well........just unplug it once the car is warmed up.

those are from something like a late eighties yota.......i think i heard that once

Drilling hubs not working for me...
monstaru replied to Bratenstein's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
to get the hubs off of the front just take the bolts out and tap it from behind how ever you can around the entire edge and it will walk itself off..... -

What sort of tools/supplies do you keep in your car?
monstaru replied to Syonyk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
for those situations which defy classifications, I also have a rocket launcher, radar jammer, $50,000 in small unmarked bills, three passports, a couple of visas (don't even know my real name ), prophylactics and a bottle of wine (or should that be the other way around? hehe), a shovel and some lime, and midget repellant (in case skeet threatens to visit again). he's lying,he doesn't carry wine.it's ether. -
sticky lifters or whatnot? SEAFOAM!!

i would say look for a 3 door coupe and put rx suspension components on it......if you go for a wagon , you can get a loyale type wagon and do some rx /xt suspension goodies and build the engine up.you will get more hp from the ea-82 right off of the get go.turbo?maybe, ummm yeah, turbo.something in the range of what all these guys do to there rigs , like wjm, or oddcomp.

i think they did do it on monster garage, but it wasn't to a subie:brow: ok here is the plan.... i am going to buy a lottery ticket......and hope for the best 24,000!damnit

thats some mad backspacing, make sure if you go to bigger tires you check one on the front for clearance with strut towers before you mount them all......save a little hassle...
