I don't believe in TACT, I believe in shock loading. I believe in gaining skill. Reading and hashing things to death whilst not understanding is not learning. GO PRACTICE DRIVING. It is the only thing that is gonna help you. Unless you mount the proper size winch on your vehicle. If it is your wifes, and under warranty, STay on forest service roads. Because you don't belong in the area you are talking about. Having the capability to utilize your given tools is not easy if you don't even understand the concept. I can see the winch cable snapping now. Hurting someone that has no business being there in the first place. Costing taxpayers tons of cash for the extraction ,and at the same time giving "wheelers" bad press. Believe it or not, I am all for helping. Ask anyone that ACTUALLY knows me. Instead of people on here that are to damn sensitive to see it. I would say the higher heart rate is good for you. But I don't get it this way. lol Literally a simple search on winches would have covered ALL of this info. Instead we have a bunch of engineers, that have "read" this , or "seen" this. And a few that have used the wrong equipment and keep breaking it. The damn reason is because it is not meant to be used that way.DUH So I'm the spardnubbin that has to say , "hey dumbass, buy the right equipment or don't put yourself in harms way?" For fawks sake. I got tired of living in a "PC" world a long time ago. I hope you hurt yourself just to tame the stupid.......

Billy knew Exactly what he was doing. Going with a small pinioned rearend is not smart when you beat on spoob. On top of the fact that LOCKERS and GEARS is the WHOLE reason for going to a solid rear.... He was beyond your thought process lol He has moved on to better wheelers . And More room for his family Billy built shiit more skookum than anyone else I have seen. It is a shame that he moved away from building our kits, and projects like these.

You will have to find someone to build all of that for you. It won't be cheap .That is unless you just do a basic strut top block of like an inch, then gomore aggressive slightly larger(like one size)tires. You should actually read all of the old school information, so you are educated about it when you start trying to find someone to build things for you. I would not have bought a brand new car to do it with .Although the ground clearance alone is a good starting point . You should have researched prior to buying.Especially if this was the plan from the get go. You are more suited to be over at OUTBACK.org Good luck finding stuff to bolt on. And if all this does come to fruition, don't forget to post pics. I would like to see some new sheet metal getting bashed lol cheers

K,So. I have taken an entire EJ Lego dash and cut it back, Then cut it back some more .Then some more. Then realized that it might just be easier to wire the Toyota dash to the Subie wiring. It is such a learning process. LOL DOH! I have had donations for an overflow tank by a buddy that just did his refrigerant for better AC . So that's awesome.. Is coming together well. Just need to focus on the little things. lol.. cheers

Unless it is considered legal for you to do that , Please don't talk about it here. Now , that being said. The Justy is pretty awesome. But unless you have several of them lying around. Finding parts is not an awesome endeavor. I will always love wheeling Subarus. But until I can have a park for JUST SUB?ARUS, I will not have another for more than tooling around in. There are few that can actually drive a Ru properly in the offroad scenario. There are a few that are learning as we speak.lol If you want more Offroad/wheeling , YOU HAVE TO MOVE ON. If not then, cool.jEnjoy it.BUT, know your limits. cheers cheers

To me it looks like EA running gear on about 8 inches of lift.Six lug hubs, and aftermarket wheels.(obviously)lol The rear driveshaft is to close to the front of the vehicle for a divorced case. Never seen it.Seen ALOT of them. Several floating around I am sure. Not everyone is even close to wanting to be on the computer. cheers EDIT:Also, the rear driveline/propshaft would be at a greater angle due to the length of the drivetrain.

With 20g's I could buy 3 Toyota wheelers ready to go, and still have enough left to take a wheeling trip down south...
-
I always want more,so, I will continue to build something that has a Subie engine, Toy axles, lockers, huge fawkin tires, and lots of toob! I will always go farther than anyone if i can. cheers
-
Its an EA82 engine.Of course it is normal lol that sucks man. hope ya get it fingered out. cheers

There is becoming an untruth on this board and the Subaru community that taking your car on non-improved gravel roADS IS "OFFROADING". nO, nO ITS NOT ... aND REALLY, those folks have very little input that is valid in this kind of question. And I am not careful about my words for a reason.Because I say things to prove points.semantics aside, MOST people THINK they offroad. Most people DON't offroad. Hardcore to the bone. Now, Piss off. cheers

I think it is funny that this is the Offroad forum, and people that don't offroad answer questions.

lots of talkin. No building. Lets go slacker

You had the sense to write this, but no sense to just look up winch wiring? This deserves a tongue lashing.... So, first off. You need at least twice the weight of a vehicles size winch to operate properly. So, your almost 4k vehicle won't be very nimble being pulled by a 3k winch... And if your argument is that you only need a "a little" help, I will tell you to piss off, and get a different hobby , cause you obviously don't know how to drive and should practice until you get it... In other words. Fawkin learn how to drive......or, grow some balls. cheers, or not

a 2" is not going to eat axles on a daily driver. If it does you did it wrong.lol

Dude, the show is like an hour past P town.... lol.... See ya there man. Drive safe! -
Tahuya will probably be just right, except rubbing your exhaust. Just wait. You don't want to break it before you even get it lifted! Patience man, patience.

Have you not measured the ID of the seal you need?, or the OD of the axle you want to use? There are many a bearing house to be searched. Any time I need a bearing for something special , I just measure. Like the rest of the world. Oh, and thanks for searching. Good job trying to extend a thread. No really, I'm serious lol

Not worth it Doug. They do not have a good track record. Just get a VLSD. They work really well for what they are. cheers
