  1. i bought a tranny from Flow earlier this year,it came out of a parts car he bought from someone, who are you? and what year tranny did you put in that car??????i need a detective.....
  2. that trans was from flow,i like 83 or so, i think?
  3. is there a way to match my vin number with a catalog in order to find out what gearing i have?all of my stickers are ruined.i would like to find this info out so that i can i figure out if i need to go to different gears.....that was a mouthful.any suggestions?
  4. my uncle has been hauling cars and boats for years now.he contracts with north american vanlines.i do not know what type of cost scale they have though.just a thought.
  5. oh yeah, here is a link on how to drill your hubs outhttp://subarubrat.com/6lugconv.htm
  6. i would suggest that you get 14 inch 6 lug rims.and drill your hubs, not the rims.you can acquire 14" 6-lugs off of mazda and nissan 4x4's.at the yard i have mounted the following rims on soobs-isuzu,nissan,chevy,mazda,gmc, and toyota.the mazda and nissan must be 4x4 in order to be 6 lug.out of the ones that i mounted the 14 inch rims were sporting 205/75/14 and 195/75/14,they turned well in the front and had enough backspacing to clear the struts.the 15" rims i mounted had varying tire sizes and had good backspacing as well.from what i understand.....most any rims that i mentioned still have less backspacing than your average pug.and alot of people run pugs.so, i would go to your local junkyard and find some that you like.find out the return policy and if you do not like the performance.switch 'em out.you will also need some extra hubs for studs and if you want to do it off of the car and then mount them.
  7. you could bolt them into a brat.baccaruda had jerry do that for him.if you can bolt them into a brat you could pretty much bolt them into anything.if yo are international and find them for sale in the states it will be mighty high on shipping charges.
  8. if one is to be found on my side of the state itis 50 bucks for the tranny....i am sure that one of the guys on your side could help you find one, and probably help install it.just find out what years are compatible.i would imagine you could accomplish it if you took the time.get the car with a single range and take your time finding a low mileage tranny for it...it will come around if you utilize your resources properly.i.e. telephone the junkyards, keep your eyes open for wrecked soobs, etc.
  9. i was thinking more about the front.the rear is an easy fix with the cups, i had heard about that.maybe i need to start researching how to make a wider stance .
  10. i am just talkin about lengthening it about an inch.so that the stretch is minimalized when i flex.

    custom c.v's

at what point has anybody stopped messing with our stock suspensions on ea81 vehicles?am i wrong to think that you could extend your c.v. axle according to how much lift you have and get a better response from them?who, if anyone has attempted this and what results did you get? a friend of mine and i have been discussing doing this for my brat.are there charts that describe the stock angle ?where to find them?thanks, brian
  12. i think i just messed myself......and yes that is a compliment. wow,was it a present to yourself?if it was then you would not be ashamed to tell the price you paid for those beauty's.if not tell whoever payed for them to tell me so's i can startsaving my pennies.oh yeah, did i say that i like them very much.ok i'll stop now....one more, man are those sweeeet
  13. any time i have adjusted a clutch on a soob i have done what dave said.put it where you are comfortable with it.i have never had a problem either.yet i am curious as to how you unhooked your hillholder.it is probably simple ,yet i have not grasped it on my own yet......
  14. if you wish you can try an educate her on this.it might set her at ease.here is a link with a calc.http://www.4lo.com/ it does not seem to be viable or economic to try and purchase some type of unit to fix this.so maybe you can at least set her at ease.i can see this coming up with my ol'lady as well. good luck and may the wind be at your back on this endeavor.
  15. he is speaking of the rust you may encounter from the bolts you will need to remove in order to put the lift kit on.ie. your rear shock mount bolts, your rear control arm bolts and such.your front strut rod bolts, differential hanger bolts, all of these can be a real p.i.t.a......
  16. i'll have to go look and see if i left a mark, i was not in the mood to have a run in with the local peacekeepers, cause they do not usually try and keep the peace if you know what i mean.....plus i was driving highly illegaly
  17. i do need a new balljoint, but it did not shear it off.it just welded the nut to the bolt with about 3 or 4 millimeters left before the control arm....yeah i went sliding alright....
  18. that was about as much excitement i ever wanted to have "onroad " in her.....i tell you there was great pucker factor in that one......my welder was not impressed with my event.yet he stuck with me.what a bro.
  19. i took the brat on a flatbed up to a friends shop to weld the wheel wells after curing her of cancer.welded her up with some plate steel and everything was cool.do not have her licensed yet.but, being the sneaky bastard i am , i said "well, i 'll just drive her home on some back roads".and i did.until, eventually we (friend and welder following in my volvo) had to get on a main thouroghfare to proceed to my house.i lost him at a turn light.pulled off to the side to wait and checked out the axle noise i had been hearing the whole time.did not notiice my lug nuts coming off of my vehicle..about two blocks down the road , in the middle of shopping traffic,my drivers side front wheel came flying off and proceeded to bounse over the front of one car, behind another one on to a sidewalk on the opposite side of the street and back over to our side of the street.meanwhile i was sliding down the road on my balljoint nut.came to a stop, ran down the road at full speed to reacquire my tire and ran back.while i was running back my friend jumped out of the volvo, jacked up the front end and was pulling lugnuts off of the first wheel.i got back and while he was threading the first lugnut i grabbed two more and lowered her to the ground. off we went to get off of the road.pulled off, checked ALL the lugnuts, including the one he crossthreaded on and drove home , fast i might add.pulled her in the garage and shut the door.what a trip......check your lugnuts
  20. nice vid.....how much do you think that cost 'em.......

  22. lets all remember that this is not a pissing contest....a soob is a soob is a soob...thats what bringsa us toghethera herea...(sorry, felt like a southern baptist preacher)
  23. you could go spfi, or get a weber.....a weber would definitely get more gas in there.if you wanna go on the cheap you can modify your hitachi as well.....you would need an adapter plate for your ej22 conversion to fit onto your tranny.....not that hard.baccaruda are working on making a stencil for those.....like the man said, there legos.just get dirty and make it faster.or you could order an engine from ccr how you want it.there are plenty of options.don't give up yet...
  24. i can find anything, but my price for you would be astronomical:brow: grinding the caliper, how long did we talk about that yesterday....geez....what an easy fix...you got lucky.i will be at the yard in about an hour,i ahve to cut that glasspack off.....
  25. ask your friends in town and have them direct you to a place off of freya!!!!! drew got a double row made for his wagon on freya, across from napa, right behind ram engine. on a side note the xl has spark!!!! i am stoked.
