  1. thanks zap,i will take those tips into consideration.i will also not be drinking barley soda that early so it should go smooth even if i have a couple of probs. :drunk: anywho,i will take some pics of the rearend before i start the front.it looks like a jacked up nova or something.i know most of you guys have seen it.i just hope i was not the first to thinkof driving around the block like that :lol:

  2. i was able to drill out the broken bolt and save the threads.....that was a relief.the back is done .i will post pics in the morning, right before i start on the front.mhuhumaaaaaaaa.......i got to borrow a compressor and some air tools to finish the back out...man i need one of those.:banana::banana:

  3. cut holes in the bed,got her done.drilled out the top shock mount bolt just enough to save the threads so that i could utilize the bolts that came with my lift.man was that arduous.but ,like i said ,got her done.the back is now OZified.....schweeeeeet......

oh yeah,i am going to cut a hole just big enough so that i could utilize a take away panel like is on the side of the bed.you know ,the access panels.

  4. when i went to get the bolts off of the passenger side of the diff hanger i got them loose and now they just spin.both of them.is it possible for both of them to have broken the welds on the nuts?am i just missing something?i got frustrated and stopped before i went to breaking stuff. :banghead: any help would be appreciated..thanks,brian

  5. yeah they seem to be alright guys.they just think i am crazy for wanting to do that to a brat.but we'll show them, again, and again and agian .

man do those rear shock bolts suck.that is how far i have gotten. :banghead: i broke one off.got any ideas for getting it out?besides tapping a new one? damn am in a whole mess now

  6. wow finally a day off.about to start on the transformation.you can see before pics in my gallery.i will try to get a camera today from baccaruda for during pics and after pics.i have already had run ins with the yota boys and cannot wait to shove their comments where it doesn't shine :brow:

and i cannot wait to come over for a couple of runs qman...most likely spring though.

  7. on an excursion to the parts store i had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity....i asked if the rear stock lines were longer ,and they are zap, like you said.brand new and voila'........i will be picking those guys up.and it is not that i will need an extension with 4 inches, just that i would rather be safe than sorry.

  8. i am a proud father of a new out of box hybrid lift from pk.aluminum blocks and steel extensions to put it basically. am ix of the two.tomorrow i will have a lifted brat!!!yeeehaw..thank you patrick

ye sshe is cute isn't she,yes thank you ,yes she is a brat......yes , oh yes, she has all kinds of clearance now.(practicing for the toyota boys):banana::banana:

  9. next time you go give me a shout.....i am also in spoki doki.maybe the brat willl be ready.if not we'll take the 4-runner.oh ,by the way ....i got my lift kit today in the mail and will be putting it in tomorrow.if you wanna check it out give me a holler....991-8048,brian

and by the way.....my old wagon went 4-wheelin all the time man...you would be amazed at all the stuff you can break :brow:

  10. yeah ,but doesn't the manifold of an ea82 bolt right on the ea81.....?i think that is what he was getting at.i have been looking at carbs alot lately and it seems to me that there are alot of base patterns extremely similiar on the older nissans and toyotas.i even saw an early seventiescorona hatchback...yes i said corona hatchback.....with virtually the same base pattern and hitachi carb on it .even though something just wasn't right about the carb, weird secondary setup on it,i bet it would fit.

  11. far be it from me to be a smart rump roast, but aren't you supposed to "break in "a fresh rebuild before pounding on it.from what i always understood was that the engine gaskets and seals have to have time to either soak up their fluids to expand properly or gain pressure in a regulated way.that way,in the case of hg's,they wouldn't form a non-uniform seal and whatnot.......just a stab
