just got the new tranny in and after a look at the engine during the work i realized that being full of oil the whole time it was not leaking....hooked up the starter and everything else and started her up...wow does she run strong.even without the y-pipe hooked up.heheheh she sounds like an airplane:brow: the y-pipe to go on is from an ea82 for some extra flow.the lift should be here in a month or so.she is coming along.i was the ***hole of the neighborhood as she was running .wow is that loud!i must say that moving the engine forward is the only way to go when it comes to messing with your tranny yourself......yeeeehaaaawwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

hehehehe.....no, i just wondered if i could utilize the suspension parts on the rear .they looked like they were in really good shape to me....clean and all.i would just take the rear discs and the coilover to put on the brat.i mean it is an ea82 and all.there was a few other good looking partws as well.

i agree, down shifting....the guy i got my brat from loved to down shift hard and ended up taking out third gear....he also liked to drink and drive alot though:drunk:
-

i just wanted to say that FLOW seems to be a straight forward cat and i enjoyed doing business with him today.the ol'lady and i drove across the mountains today and picked up my engine ,tranny radiator and other stuff from him.it was a short visit ,but enjoyable.i wish i would have had time to stick around and play a bit but ,alas ,long drive back.thanks flow,at those prices it was worth it just to get out of town for a bit.......good to meet you man. he also has some more stuff to get rid of and would like to do it soon ,so get ahold of him and ask him if he has what you need.....
-
well, baccaruda and i did one on his brat in about 15 minutes and we did not have to spend near that amount.these things are easy to accomplish. after all ,is that not why we love our subes.150 bucks could have bought you numerous items in upgrade for your ride.....think about it.....

Power Windows don't work
monstaru replied to Senor_reek's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i have had the connections get corroded before .....light sanding with a fine grit or a fingernail file works for that......maybe? -
we call it a c-clamp...thats funny .g-clamp,c-clamp. sorry.oh yeah, you are doing it right.if at first yo9u don't succeed try "screwing" it back in with a clockwise motion using pliers.that has worked for me before.special tool or no special tool this job can suck..good luck man

my accountant has also been encouraging me,she keeps on saying we need to buy five acres so that i can have a bone yard.....god i love that woman. -
i also am a big fan of seafoam...i have used it in 2 cycle ,4cycle and 4 and 6 cylinder engines.....it really freaks you out at first.but it does do the job if stuff is getting gummed up.carbeurated or fuel injected engines.it is a nice touch.and simple to.

welll, here we go.the first sub that is an actual project.meaning that i do not have to drive it while i am fixing it.i am going to get an engine and tranny from FLOW on sunday.that means the monstaru will be driving by next weekend(hopefully, depending on my hours this week).can we say stoked.!!!!!!i am going to be pulling the original 300,000 mile motor that is a hydraulic lifter motor.,so's i can be rebuildin' it as i wish:brow: i am by far the most excited i have been in a long time.since my last subie i have been driving a volvo....good car but ,yuck....yeah for me!!!!!!

dude, that is a sick score....don't suppose your gonna have any disc brakes lying around soon?hehehehsorry, i am oppurtunistic sometimes,oh wait aren't we all.hello my name is brian ,and i am a subaholic. -
or location of numbers,etc..,i am going on a search through the"carbeurator bin at the pick and pull in the next couple of days....does anyone have this info.i did not figure it was searchable.......you know me and my inept abilities:rolleyes:
-
like i said, fast ,fast ,fast, on not so nice roads.that is what i am looking for.i just read something about rx springs on the front of someones brat.i just do not like to bottom out ,it is my pet peave.to strengthen i guess would be a better term, stiffen, maybe.
-
i had heard of someone putting a dual shock setup on the front of their wagon or something like that....they made their own bracket, which i think i could do.i am mainly worried about the engine weight....i can do a number of things to the back.what do you guys think about that?
-
hmmmm.....well, i think i need to go to the j/y and play a little bit.thanks anyway....
-
i do not really want to compete .i was thinking more for my own dimented style and uses.it would not necassarily need to have anything bigger than a couple of inches in lift.i was just wondering what i could be looking for in parts from other roo's.i believe i heard that xt6 stuff would be benificial.???
-
what type of suspension stuff would i be able to coincide with a lift for an 86 brat to be more of a rally vehicle than a rock crawler?somje of this stuff i probably already know but am not putting it together......thanks in advance:brow:
