  1. That looks like my old brat.......hrrrm. Does the bed have repairs on the wheel wells, and dent/s in the tailgate?
  2. wow, they are dumb criminals. It is really easy to get into those cars. Buy a whole new door. The damage around the handle is likely to make it easier for second attempt. AND, I dunno about you,But my car as a whole is more important than a nice rump roast stereo in a hoopty.rethink your approach .Like mounting the stereo in a lockable console in the middle. etc....
  3. I need more TIME!!!!!!

  4. jEALOUS .LOVE KOH. Single bumper beam.Tie everything into body mounts , and make extra body mounts.DOH!
  5. You'll find it difficult to locate the listings of automatics. But basically any 4eat from an EJ series will work. As long as the ratios are the same front and back you are good. I had good luck (well kinda) from an JDM engine importer. You can search your vin number to figure out what yours came with ratio wise. But I am betting it was a 4.44. Search around a little bit. There is plenty of info on this subject here. cheers
  6. Are you serious?Still no pics after all of these years! I would been in front of the ford on 31's,thats for damn sure!
  7. Straddleline is only open for certain weekends out of the year.It is publicly owned ,privately ran. There are only play days currently. And , if your rig is only mildly built I would not suggest it.It is not really fun to get stuck in other peoles way all day. More information at www.promotopromotions.com I would suggest Tahuya. It only requires a disco pass, and is open all the time. cheers
  8. I dunno, that things pretty ugly. Whats her name?
  9. Yeah, If you would have read what I stated, you would see that this is a non-issue.Not concerned, it is an offroad rig.I can circumvent anything I need to. I mean, Is this a vanagon tech thread?Umm, no.It's not. When I finish this swap I will relocate the needed information into an associated thread of importance. As of right now,The only association will be my thoughts and feelings on the entire issue. I need heat, I'll run an open flow heater core, Like my engine is used to..and run a series of fans in accordance with whatever my cooling needs may be. I know it appears I would like to keep (and have said) the stock system. But only in the placement it has for body replacement value. Not necessarily the original components. cheers
  10. I at least got the axle painted. And got the diff stud eliminator kit done. Then polished my balls
  11. I liked the FMIC. I always wante4d to turbo a Brat and then put the radiator in the bed, then tucking the FMIC in tight against the fan belts. nice the way you have it too. cheers
  12. Killing axles,makin metal dust.....Its what I do :)LOL

  13. You have to actually be THIS tall to ride this ride. And not a puss. Torxx will be fine...
  14. Thanks Homie.IT is turning out to be a pain in the rump roast. But ************ it .It's what I've always wanted. I stated earlier that I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. That got thrown out the window for sure LOL.... I WIll have to cut part of the framerail outto get it low enough to deal with the front driveline... As soon as I get another motor in my DD I will jump back onto this beast. Unfortunately the only motor I have is my frankenmotor from Stella. So I will be rebuilding the existing DD EJ when I can , and It might just go in the truck for a while till I can find the time to swap them out... cheers
  15. Something else awesome.Super simple seperate heater core. That flows through like ours do:) cheers
  16. I KNOW...lames. However.I got to wheel with Bobby's wife and son. Tina and Chris were in great spirits because it really is better for him to be gone. He had a ton of pain continuously. That run raised 10g's for the family. They are a reputable business, but that only goes so far. Sad days when icons die. cheers
  17. Nice.I also have cut them off .Several of them. If'n you are not able to "whack them off" LOL You are able to cut close enough that you get right under the torx head of the bolt. Then the stub comes off, and you can take vice grips to the rest of the bolt. IIRC...Its been a few years since I have had to do it that way. cheers
  18. Trailer and tow strap ........
  19. I am not worried about speed.I don't need speed. Kids these days:grin: Naw, all I want is the torque curve.I am not talking down the $.3 I have a heavy foot, with less torque I am less dangerous. :-pAt least to parts... I have thought this out pretty well./At least I think I Have:lol: My style of driving , compounded by the power of 200ish HP, and lots of torque equals ************ered...:-p Same HP and lower torque equals better experience overall. I'll go fast later. When I finish the buggy. cheers
  20. The 4.3 swap is kinda dumb to me.You gain all this weight for a little bit more power(in comparison to MY swap)My engine is about 180-200hp, the 4.3 stock-ish is like 170 ish to 195 ish hp.But it weighs about 200ish pounds more than my EJ does.I am not to worried about the swap. I went wheeling yesterday with some new friends for some inspiration. And to memorialize a HUGE name in the Industry that is finally at rest.RIP Bobby Long I rode all day in this rig 42's!!!! cheers
  21. HaHa.Your a Grandpa! I'll stop in this next week for that stuff. cheers
  22. The mechanics is always there., but really, ALot more traction.Have you ever offroaded a Subaru?Obviously not.i say that because there is an inherent style of driving that comes with offroading a Subaru.Of which it does not appear your gear, tire, comfort driving rump roast has experienced. LOL Anyone can drive with gears, and anyone can drive with horsepower. You have no idea what it takes to drive a Roo in tough spots needing both. The "heresay" part of it is that there is no fix. If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen. Which means hydro steering.IT CAN be done. So, why try to demonstratively disenvow a guys idea when there IS a solution to it. We were never blessed enough to have 50 bajillion companies make it easy for ANYONE to bolt ************ on and think they are a wheeler. "oh, you won't be able to steer. It will push." All facts if you find yourself being a *************** and not wanting to tackle the inherent problems. He is NOT a ***************, and therefore intowith and such, shall do what it takes to make what he wants a reality. I am here to simply remind him that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.SPECIFICALLY with a NON road vehicle. Which , in Alaska, (which I have personal experience driving in) is almost 75% winter wheeling. Just saying.I have had welded diffs in other rigs.I have driven rigs thsat have welded diffs, with steering accoutrements, that did fine. On top of the fact that he already stated that he was doing MOSTLY straight line bogging......not trail driving. I actually read the post , before I started in.Just sayin.... Hey Torxy, If'n ya want a hydro steering rack(utilized for rear steer in like an MDX, or something of that sort)I have o ethat I would GIVE you just to prove this ************in heeper wrong.) cheers
  23. Heresay, If the steering is setup properly he won't even know it is there. cheers
