  1. H1 rims, got rid of those tires , and got the 38's below layout....... 2.0 fox air shox some new meats etc...... doin some cleaning of axles.gotta finish welding some stuff, and add the gussets. I gotta order them, and some wheel centers this week..... cheers
  2. I would start with a later model if i were you.Like impreza or legacy suspension.Axles are stronger, better over all design allowing for aftermarket support in bushings etc. There is an LSD wrieup in the FAQ. The downside to our rigs are no options for aftermarket gearing. I would read around abit . there are several projects going on here that have all kinds of different vantage points. A couple of folks have done "plan" builds if i am not mistaken.(ordering plans) cheers
  3. It's all good fellas. He and i have been talking via PM.. I have been lookinbg through thousands of photos all weekend.Only found a few.I'll get'em up later. For some reason an entire album is gone from photobucket,so, as i pull stuff out to work on it this fall i'll take more photos. cheers

Oh damn, my gov job isna enough, in a fab shop no less!... I build my ************.Enuff said.I tried being nice in the beginning, telling you you were being taken. It's ok, the funny thing about KIDS is they always think they are right. I have spent years learning and building because i want to.Still have alot to learn, and gonna keep on truckin. You take your money with you on the trail, see if it can hold your crossmember together when it brreaks...LOL oh yeah, and been doin it, my buggy has 38's sweetheart,38's.........

It's funny that you think people are jealous..... And money is not the issue. It's how horribly fabricated your link suspension is.It's unsafe really for anyhting but road driving.... My entire point is you have no idea what you got yourself into, and now I just think it's funny.Especially when you think your parts are what they aren't. All the money in the world can't fix stupid......

i know a guy that ran dana 60s, with 40 inch tires on a 6.5 geared sammi case for 4 yrs.plenty strong. and, sammi cases are passenger side drop just like the toy cases.thats why it is so easy to do the axle swap on sammi's. If people actually did research instead of listening to other people you wouldna sound like an rump roast when you say thinigs that just aren't true.

  9. eggzachary,(what he^ said) i have seen WAY more sketch from all over these here interwebs....cheers
  10. thats not entirely possible without building an entire front subframe.due to mounting issues up top, and the fact he has no spare tire well:grin:It's a lego.... cheers
  11. in relation to the upper arm it only looks to be about 5=6 inches of travel. That saves money on shocks!
  12. Ahh, different shocks.right.I knew that earlier description didna sound right.. At that point your basically treating it like sheet metal and doing spot welds.WITH complete cooldown inbetween.. Would work well if you find the right balance of springs.Fronts a skosch different since your dealing with the engine weight... cheers
  13. yeah, they are def. spendy. I have about 1200 bucks in air shocks down stairs.but i only paid about 750ish total for them.buy them in pairs, that either need rebuilds, or piece it out. for a pair of 8" F-O-A single rates you can be out the door for about 400. http://f-o-a.com/shop/index.php?main_page=shopping_cart&number_of_uploads=0 They have a damn good reputation and are well priced. When i go to coilovers , i will get FOA.not that means anything.just been reading alot:grin:.cheers
  14. Whats the measurement from the tophat mounting area to the top of the upper a-arm? It looks in the pics like the car is at ride height up front.IF that is the case then why not try to stuff a premade coilover in there. It looks like there is enough room.Say, like a Fox style coilover, dual rate springs and such. There are several other companies to choose from as well. Just curious i guess. You are dealing with upper mount issues, of course unless you cut a bunch of sheet metal:grin:..The bottom shock mount could go on the upper a-arm, as simple as a plate and a couple of tabs sticking up. If you can find one to fit then the tophat mount could be the same , only upside down...or the shock could protrude through the tophat mount hole, and have some missing hood , as mentioned before. Just throwin ideas around. cheers
  15. If i remember correctly i used the entire strut from an RX,with an ea81 tophat. I got about an inch lift out of it also.......My brat worked out well with those struts up front. cheers
  16. Why not just add cutting brakes or a line lock Mick?:grin:cheers
  17. lookin good scott.getting that mount up higher is def. better.cheers, b
  18. Fram=crap..............from paper particulates once break down ensues.crap, crap, crap...........
  19. I have made a 4.44 into an old school LSD.works fine.no special parts.Just the puzzle of the chunk going in.Cheers, B
  20. holy back from the dead...... like almost all of my projects during that time this fizzled out.. i would like to do this to a syncro though:) cheers, b
  21. It might be easier to just make a rock slider idea insitu of the rocker panel.that way you can tie into the "frame rail"....just my 2 cents.....:)cheers, b
