  1. Where is Deer Island?cheers
  2. You mean the rear hatch itself?Cant be that hard.I have pulled one out , but not put one in.:)IIRC it is all under the plastic along the door sill, then up and through the hump... We can do it!!!!!Together.Like friends do.Cause I'll be semi local!!!!! cheers, me
  3. 4" in combination With the tires of course.I used 1" spacers. Some generic brand from thE Bay.I had to trim the ************ out of it for the tires though. Still need to flare out the fronts more.cheers
  4. I stepped away from those. They are still not finished.I decided I wanted to have a lower/stuffable stance.Big/Tall is not always better. The main reason we raise our bodies is to clear tires, and although I still need a skosch I will be getting it a different way. Your plates will be perfect for mounting your shocks too.Thats what I had planned for the hatch the first time around. cheers
  5. I like the gravel express stuff, but do not wish to spend the dough on it. With the 07 forester struts i netted about 4"ish of lift. When I get back to her i will do a couple more inches.maybe.I am trying to just have a fun basic DD. I COULD do all kinds of things, but I am trying to control myslef.I want to get back to working on the Huggy.... I'll do some more stuff this summer, but i am bad about tying up loose ends.So it may not be much.I will be working on the West side of our state this Summer, so it will be hard to get stuff done. cheers

Excellent vehicle, I used to live in Fairbanks.I miss that place sometimes. You might make some mounts intermittenly about the forward tube, before the cowl mounts.Stability and strength can help smaller tubing like that survive. Also, your bound to hit the exhaust like that, ALthough badass looking. It could have ill effects on money weell spent. She is rather hot though(sorry i always refer to them as she's)...cheers Just my 2cents...also , check out the Offroad version of this website. cheers
  7. I have all kinds of noises that I can't trackdown. After the rear struts rubbing the body and needing a beating, the bearings that i did to make sure that i had space, etc, etc, etc, These rims clear my struts, but i have spacers, i would look there. There are several types of these rims out there that look the same,.The chrysler pt cruiser has the same rim, different backspace, so unless they were specifically for a Subaru, i would be weary.Unless of course you do the research and find all of the proper offsets.Which can be anywhere between 3.5 to 5.5.........just sayin, there is alot that goes into some of the simplest things I find..... cheers
  8. actually i had one years ago.It was done by brazing a base plate onto the stock kidney.I wish i could say i made it, but it was a junkyard score. I gave it to a kid on here once.I think the one o traded Lilly off to.. I'll see if i can find a pic, but it would be a longshot if i did... cheers
  9. Didna feel like readin. But , on 2nd gen brats the rear shock mounts up in the fenderwell is open.clean it out if it is worth it, then fill it in with your fancy,....be it foam,or some other filler. what happens is thet it gets full of dirt, then holds water.the inside of the bed will rust first.so check the wheel wells in the bed. any seams underneath. etc like has beeen said. cheers
  10. totally, i have been building my latest one for like 3 yrs already.looks like it might make a cross state move, hopefully this time it will actually get a shop!good things just take time!!!!!!cheers

  20. it has held up to everything i have thrown at it so far, including gasoline, diesel, and brake fluid and brakleen... fixed the base of a 32/36 with it, never had issues.buddy fixed an injector boss on a marine diesel with it,no issues.I fixed a broken bleeder screw with it,no problems. is it designed for all of that?i dunno.but it has been used and abused thats for sure.i would say that the mixture is obviousluy the most important.getting the amounts proper is very important not only for set time, but also strength. it did not hold up to muriatic acid when i was trying to use it to fix a ding in 1911 frame.but i did not really expect it to:grin:......it just kinda dissolved off chunkily....... anyways.cheers, b
  21. stock mazda protege fans from the junkyard work very well also.they are about 10" and push , pull whatever.pretty high CFM's in relation to stock ej fans for sure. cheers, b
