  1. i 've got good reason to believe that i have all of the pieces for the fun trans. 4.11 from ty752va1aa RX trans D/R for the lows....... now, do i go with the $.11's and have to stay viscuous.or go 3.9's and maintain diff lock. anyways, goin on the strut train tomorrow.end destination: KICK rump roast:lol:

  4. i vote for cutting board,it is easily cut, and you can replace easily if you mess up to bad without to much work.and it is cheap.
  5. this is awwesome....i just picked up an OBX as well.but i am not really up on transmission work either.i need to find a damn manual.good work on the axles.cheers, b
  6. why don't you just ream out the ea81 control arm for the other ball joint russ?i mean just curious. i gave or traded a set of control arms to briggs that had exactly that......cheers, b
  7. umm, i was not asking for advice.:)i was ***************ing about the strut being bent, or the knuckle being tweaked.no bent links, replaced the leading arm so far and took a gander.lets just say i am HOPING it is a strut...i just have not had time for it yet. it'll get fixed when the new struts, knuckles, and disc brakes :headbang:get put on the back this next weekend hopefully i was thinking of making my own rear lateral links..and make them TRULY adjustable....i have some tube, and some BIG rod ends .....but only have right hand threads.which will be ok i guess.i'll just have to remove the link from one end to adjust.this is still just a thought though........ cheers, b
  8. just some more parts.i'm excited about this one.i've wanted to do this since WJM started that thread like 5 yrs ago... anyways.......cheers, b
  9. so i got some basic stuff done, threw some bearings at some extra knuckles i had layin around. the rear will be disc brakes now, from an early lego..... disabling the ABS as i go...... working on finding a damn saw that will cut true so i can finish of the lift blocks....hopefully that will get done this week.. that damn rear camber/toe issue needs resolved pronto though , i know that.seems like it is getting worse. so next on the agenda is definitely the rear setup, lift or not...i just hate to take stuff apart two or three times....but oh well. anyone know if the width of an 4EAT at the stub axles , is the same as the D/R's at the stub axles? cheers, b

    LSD vs VLSD

it's ok, i don't need a tampon.that was kinda my point.DEF. a difference in time used, period.if we all had reference of brand new units we could actually call it a comparison. it is good to know that the design has changed a skosh..i am debating whether or not i should weld this next one coming up here real soon.i am a total fan , but i have been really thinking about stresses lately... i don't work in the middle of nowhere currently.and do not really need that kind of trsaction.so i'd almost rather get a clutch unit, and rebuild it or run it till it pukes.... cheers, b
  16. i'd venture to say that he's in the garage.....:grin:cheers, b

    LSD vs VLSD

yeah well, there was very little difference in how MINE acted.....so, that is why i stated it that way.......you can throw out all the technical mumbo jumbo you want,he asked for personal experience.:)cheers, b
  18. there are like 5 or so threads about this.search .....then search some more. cheers, b

    LSD vs VLSD

they should technically have the same rating, just different actuation.torque rating wise they activate a little differently.but very little difference.same roads, same winter, same vehicle.they were both used, but cleaned and resealed .no reason to think there was undue stress on either... but i can break anything lose on ice:grin:and do.... however, spring mud that year was fun with the clutch type....not so much with the VLsd. even though rpms were high through the same honey holes ..it just wasn't the same feel...but totally possible it was not up to snuff. cheers, b
  20. some trimming. i am waitin on some parts, got some other parts, and need a couple more parts...... i think i'll be startin on the motor this weekend.maybe.i might just run the existing longblock into the ground. it is drinking coolant, and burning oil.seen the coolant dripping from the holes in the exhaust pipes.... she was rode hard, and put away wet.but she ain't done. i have a dual port block downstairs.think i'll throw that under it. gonna have to drill and tap the EGR port in the head, cause i do not feel like finding another head...we'll see how i feel when i get to it:lol:because i am not looking forward to it now!! other than that.gonna cut the bumper some more for lighting....just outside the license plate, and inside the indicators. ....i will also move the license plate up a bit theres just enough room up there..... anyways. cheers, b
  21. almost all i have seen have had it.......cheers, b
