  1. i am simply a realist.no threats, you should just know who you ************ with. and i do.do you? nope you don't, just an interpretation of ones semantics.of which you chose to judge whilst interjecting into something that was none of your business. now, your detracting from another thread just like a true troll.now piss off. i did have another idea the other day.people should actually take their rigs apart before they propose ideas.that way they are educated on the innerworkings of specific parts to be talked about.....hmmm, thats novel....and could possibly lead to progress. the original poster was inquiring about a locker.there is none.and evidently it is people like me that never make it happen... right.....right... you wanna get my goat kid?try to get it in person.thats all.i am a very spirited person, sorry you don;t like it, or care for it.the truth is you have no idea what i have done for this community.and probably never will .....so shut the ************ up about it....pretty simple. cheers, b:rolleyes: NOW, back to the task at hand.............
  2. what'd you drive Jeff?PICS?cheers, b
  3. awesome , another troll. and really, i could care less if it happens.my solution is welded.step up to it if you can... no excuses here.i simply do not have the resources, and don't care to make it happen.at least not anymore. i have moved on. not knocking anyone,if someone has the gumption then awesome...but YOUR idea has been had before.if you can make it happen then do it,and quit squakin about it. you wanna be a wongleflute to me?come meet me in person, then be a wongleflute.the people i am a wongleflute to , i have met in person. fair is fair. come get an ea81 oil pan from me.come on , it'll be fun.
  4. i simply "re-aligned " the brakelines with my last lift(6").just slightly reshaped them whilst pulling from the inner fender well....also cut the brake tab lines on the strut and used zipties. as amatter of fact i think every set of brakes on a car i have driven have beeen free;d from the strut.makes changing struts easier and less hzssle... cheers, b
  5. not bitter at all.i know these cars limits.just stating the same answer to the same old question.......i have done my fair share of research and development.just moved on to more capable .... and if you are not here to talk about a solution for a locker , then why are you? your ideas are not new.thanks though. cheers, b
  6. think that hasna been thought of?alot of these types of mods have been thought to death....most ideas around here are not original in the last several years.they have been talked to death by those that would LOVE to take them to production .money, money .... so, if you think you can, then please....go ahead. most , like myself who have talked and talked , and planned these types of mods to death do not have the means to machine the pieces,or the knowledge ......... slowly but surely everything we all have worked on will come to fruition.BUT, once again it takes funds. why would i spend G's to make this happen when i could put that money into my crawler? cheers, b
  7. three letters........ BFH:lol: cheers, b
  8. so, how is that tranny holding up?any thoughts?etc....cheers, b
  9. regardless.i have personally beat the ************ out of a vehicle with one of these bashplates i speak of.....3/16ths.a few small dents. nothing more.and that was way more extreme driving than he will see apparently.... it also depends on what type of aluminum you are using.and yes, you are on crack if you think that 3/8ths aluminum plate is weak.........cheers, b
  10. read back a few pages.he IS producing them right now. it has been said that Mellow gets the first one of course.I am in line for the second one.cheers, b
  11. yeah, they did not have one for our cars back then either...cheers, b
  12. yeah, he is on crack. i have some old large door"kickplate" that came off of some warehouse doors. it is aluminum.and has been made into a couple of bashplates .it is 3/16ths i believe.plenty strong, and hard as hell to bend.we had to go to a friend of mine with a press. now, IF you have a press, you could make the dies pretty simple(next on the tool list).cheers, b
  13. just go out there and take it easy.....have a look around.and don't be a hero if you are by yourself.just check it out.ask some folks inthe parking lot, see what other "less capable" rigs are there. however it would be better to check out with a couple of cars,(one being more capable than the others)than turning a whole line of subarus into a trail tampon........cheers, b
  14. cut yours in half, sleeve, weld. good.cheers, b
  15. since man started driving subie in the offroad genre, he has wanted locker....... thisthread went nowhwere because it is like many others.a few at a time willing to partially pony up for something being manufactured, then the cost being to high to pull off. this idea has been here for a long time, but no one with the machining knowledge has stepped forward to offer a cheap alternative to the market....much less a choice at all..... the costs involved would not net the proper profit is usually the theme that is encountered.played out by stating that they are willing to manufacture if a preorder of 25 or so is made....etc..... for a while i was working on an idea of a collar for an axle to act as a locker...with a lincoln locked center chunk you could just disengage the axle.... kinda like a circular puzzle piece that could ride on bearings, and push together to engage, pull apart to disengage. but, i digress, i too could not afford the machining of the pieces, etc.. these posts come out about every couple of years.......cheers, b
  16. of all of the different distys i looked at , and or bought to take apart(about 10) none of them wired the same. i went to the ford dealer and found a schematic for the early escorts and EXP's.the thing about it is that ford, like subaru changed wire colors from year to year.so, it might behoove you to get ahold of a ford guy, or a wiring diagram for that specific year that you got it from/for. AND i'd like to see a disty that just bolts right to the back of the head that has not been modified to fit.it simply won't happen unless it is factory...... cheers, b
  17. thats lame.send my condolences......************IN LAME1!!!!!!!:-\
  18. i am betting grounds.clean every possible thing that is related to grounding. i would also start by running the engine at operating temp to check the alternator output with a voltmeter. when you rev it up to about 2500 you should see a significant change to about 14.4v?(please correct me if i am wrong.) but , i would start with grounding her better.....you know.teach her some yoga or something:grin:.... cheers, b
  19. looks like a condenser?don't think i ever ran one....the wires were always shot on the ones i have had.hopefully someone speaks up...bump cheers, b
  20. or, you could actually look.and figure it out by using deduction.you know, like regular people.
