i have thought about it, but alas...i don't have a mill. i have a couple of tail shafts that i harvested a while back for another project .....all in all, i was trying to find a way to utilize our 4eat so i do not have to farm out to much work...but oh well..... the other option was to take a nissan pathfinder version of our trans , and put our bellhousing onto it....... they are the same mainbody.but, it is already attached to the ax10(?) transfer case....which i have looked into as well. the same spline count tailshafts......just about the right length too..... anyways, i digress....cheers, brian

not true , really? if you drop everything but the suspension 4 inches, and the suspension 1 inch, you have no room for tires.you have a belly dragging low COG car...i have dropped everything but the suspension before. so, true. and as far as searching, there is plenty up in the FAQ about this to warrant him actually knowing the difference to this already.... cheers, brian

well , really if you were gonna do it that way, it would need to be 4"suspension, 1" body....and it wouldna work. just like 4 inch body and one inch suspension.all that does is push your engine, trans, and rear diff lower to the ground. the suspension part of the lift is what puts you in a position to get bigger tires.which is how you will gain your ground clearance... cheers, brian

who owns the land?i would start there.......
-
your ignorance is not an excuse to any agency, or the people that work hard to keep areas open .i am just stating that you need to be educated about where you go.since you ARE new, i would suggest researching before you go anywhere to "offroad".....cheers, brian
-
regardless. on any property your on in the state of washington,it is YOUR personal responsibility (per state law) to know what type of land you are on, that is my point. just because someone cut a road in somewhere does not mean YOU are supposed to be on it.don't be ignorant .be informed. because if it IS illegal to be in that part of the area, crossing a stream, it can not only shut down an entire area(per particular agency), it can also shut down other areas . all from peoples stupidity , and disregard towards rule layout and or enforcement.
-
i hope that is condoned by whatever agency the land is owned by.....i would check if you don't know.cheers, brian
-
well, saturday morning with everyone? i will probably be there friday night.i actually could be there earlier...but we will see what happens.cheers, brian

monstaru replied to Bash's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
are you burning holes?cheers, brian and never use brake kleener to clean anything....happy welding -
well, from what i heard .its mainly logging roads.and legal. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=113195&highlight=monstaru but as with any new area to you,be considerate.please do not be disrespectful to places that are not marked as trails. it is hard enough keeping our name proper as hardly any of the four wheeling community recognizes what we do .it is all bigger and better out there. don't be a fool....... and everything should remain OK. respect where ever you go.please.cheers, brian

will get run to a t-case.......so, no probs here either then.........cheers, brian

nice mang, hope to see you at walker valley.........:)cheers,brian

take it apart......as far as you are comfortable.if you have to number parts, then number them. put safety glasses on, and or a shield.spray the livin hell out of everything. it s not uncommon for me to use three cans of brake cleaner.the green kind. put the little hose on, and go to town.....pay attention to where the orifces' are directd (if your a ********************* and do not wear a shield, or glasses.) i have dousched myself directly in the eyeballs before.just thinkin, oh, it'll be alright..... clean everything.get the proper gaskets, or cut them out of gasket material. with a miniature ball pien you can cut them from the part itself....just as a razor blade and piece of wood will get you farther than you think.and just do it.don't let wonder boy^^^^^ talk you out of it. carb resealing is not that hard.most often times a good reseal will get you another ton of miles.and perform.yes they are persnickety, but can be handled..... sure , it may still have a problem, or not act right but run...because something is out of spec.but, the replacement parts are abundant now because people are tossing them to use webers. but , you should read ************ before you use it.mixing or even using the wrong chemical on a part cannot only ruin the parts sometimes, but also deem the user inoperable for an undisclosed amount if time. oh, and remember it all depends on what kind of money you want to spend.you can buy gasket material, brake kleen , and some towels for like 15 bucks....add the inhouse items of q-tips, razorblades, razorknife.... i usually just use a blade, after tracing with a good ball point pen.so you can leave an indentation to follow. whatever, to each his own... cheers, brian

so, unbolt the control arm....?
