"Off Road" Light Install
monstaru replied to eulogious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
working on, and "improving" your car are two very different things.i imagine they do not want huge oil spills and such.so be smart.it is very easy.if you start out your car career not being able to accept the simple things that will happen and not prepare for them, then i have no hope for you!:grin:adapt and overcome man....you pay for a garage, use it.thats just my two cents.........piss on that ************.i would get the parameters of the use rules.and memorize them.cheers, brain -
yes?you were saying?

you can wax poetic all you want.i never met a machinist that did not want to work off of plans. and no harm in asking if someone else has some. oh, and good luck with your business model........

wow, why ya gotta be a wongleflute?you coulda just told him to search....... so ,. let me get this straight.you don't want to help someone because it could interfere with your business.thats a bit backwards..... if it were me , i think i woulda said.."sure i can help ya out with measurements and stuff, and then when and if they got in over there head and understood the work involved doing it themselves....would have re-approached them and said, or i could build ya one. but not," im not gonna kick down info cause i worked hard for it."and that is probably true, but it gives you no right for bashin someone that is tryin to do it himself, that just needs a little help.i mean really, he asked for blueprints.......... granted , he may not know what he is doing.but it is not your ************in place to talk him out of it.....its no ones.and you should only speak for yourself.you don't ************in know what the other builders would say,did you have a secret lift builders meeting somewhere that we all didna hear about?no ,you didn't.so , leave them out of this. theres only room enough for one wongleflute around here.and thats me (actually its not me, but you get the point).so piss off. now, back to the subject.there are plenty of places on this website that there is information to be had.i would suggest looking at the FAQ at the top of the page.you first have to evaluate what you are going to be doing wth your car.....and go from there... cheers, brain

yeah , i almost always just use them for referencing parts.but i always get the printout from them. i was looking for 4.44 diffs last year and they ended up giving me a list with all trans , gear ratios, and such from like 1998 up.........it was great reference material.(i don't know why i throw ************ away!) but i guess thats a crapshoot now too.:lol:good luck, brian

hey would you stop buying cars for a week or so , so that i can find a shell that needs work for cheap? good luck on the search, like i said, when i can't pull it from the yard i go to Noah. and an easy way to get the crossovers, or at least gearing ratios for specific years is to go to spauldings and ask them if they have what you need.....they can print you out a list of all transmissions and what years they came from for you. cheers, brian

and when you do a filter job, the filter comes with a gasket.sooooo, i would say either or.but it depends on if you are getting into it next time or a tech.... personally, i do not put sealant on the pan.it may last longer, but it is a ************in pain to get off.so i use gaskets if i have to r and r the pan.whatevers.cheers, brian

let me know what they are ......i'm pretty close.cheers, brian

EJ with dual single Weber Carbs and Disty
monstaru replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
alot of machining involved in using anything besides an escort disty.cheers, brian -
really, thats odd. i took a window out of my gold brat, and put it in my maroon brat.the gold was a rust victim from 82, maroon was 86. the one you grabbed may be from an ea71 brat.slightly smaller.but all ea81 brats had the exact same body.some quirks here and there.but the same body, period.exceptin long beds, or bobs of course fo rthe literal idiots out there. cheers, brian

tdo4 came on wrx's in the middle years.at least 02-04 did.dunno about any other years.cheers, brian

no it is not pirate 4x4. but it is grow up and do your own research then mod your ************ land.......... if you asked or posed valid things that were conducive to your cause....i am sure you would get less flak.but it is obvious that you have rubbed some of us the wrong way.....either deal with it , or don't...

the FAQ always worked for me.........

awesome.just remember ,gussets are your friend.the torque out of that motor sitting by itself might be more than in a balanced 2 wheeler.i would tie the tubing into the outside mount areas.be sure to take care for the exhaust on the pass. side.....looks awesome though.... your life looks good too:grin:...now get back to the car(as i sit here and wonder about a certain hatch that has not been touched forever)..cheers, brian

so , today i did absolutely nothing.....:lol:but , she did get her first snow i have seen on her... cannot wait to drive her .it is almost worth seeing if the wrx fuel pump would work ......it is supposed to have one....but i doubt it. everything points to it i just have to make her run again.i drove her home, and she teased me......now i'm just pissed i want to get to fast again..... ......cheers i guess, brian

it has to pass emissions to transfer title(which means no codes).......to the new owner.so, i rendered it inoperable to get a waiver. and i did not remove the airbag,it was blown in that steering wheel when the previous owner got it.hence the new steering wheel.... our testing over here is all about actual emissions.there are no safety inspections. cheers, brian
