  1. reminder, get on board air.cadillacs from like late 80's have a killer air supply that they used for the air suspension.get on it.........:lol:cheers, brian
  2. well, did you have fun scooby? its hard to tell with your concise description . cheers, brain
  3. lets see......i took a steering wheel puller, welded a bolt through it to use as a cam wrench on an ej22. i have a bracket that i mount to a flange on the rear differential and a large piece of beam i have, to loosen those sometimes pesky stub axle bolts.you know, the e10 ones. ummm,,the ever infamous "persuader"............ )of which someone has not given back yet( and, hmmm, lets see...... a valve spring compressor , out of a c-clamp and a piece of metal that came on the valve spring compressor that i had but didna work.as it was inadequate for the spacing of access to the valves.in other words, it was hittin the damn sidewall and would not allow me to get a long enough throw to compress the spring as needed. several jigs for this or that.... multiple axle pin removers..allen wrenches, random old screwdrivers, and the occasional bolt, screw or nail....whenever they go to the abyss, i make another one......until now:) made a huge allen wrench to get out the plug on the front of an ea81 block to install the block heater. i have some custom 4eat automatic input shaft clips. then theres the modification of a multitude of tools that i have utilized, but who hasn't?cheers, brian
  4. before you go getting up in arms about tools to take to the yard......i would ask if cutting utensils are even allowed. not even our main yard up here allows them.cheers, brian
  5. love it!awesome places too.cheers, brian
  6. agreed edrach, you will know when you need to change the oil pan gasket. the motor mounts and the tranny mounts on an ea81/4spd combo equates to 4 actually .2 motor mounts, and two tranny mounts.unless you took the crossmember with it.then it would be 8 nuts off of bolts.if you do the tranny mounts on the car make sure you get the car high enough that it won't be uncomfortable.get it up there, thats what jackstands are for. if you have to do you oil pan gasket i would take the motor out and do it.i have had pans be leakin like a siv and still a huge *************** to take off....... .it is way messier to do that job on the vehicle in my opinion if you are just doing the motor and tranny mounts......lift the vehicle in the front, put on jackstands. lift motor after taking off the engine mount nuts.you will start to see the tranny mounts stretch, keep goin if you need more room, but not to far.you are trying to gain access to the mounting bolts on the side of the tranny. take the bottom bolts out , then take the side mount bolts in the tranny out .remove mounts.replace mounts in reverse order. now do your engine mounts.they only go one way. lower engine, mount everything to the crossmembers and you are done. cheers, brian
  7. those are the colors i remember on all 3 of the sets i have had.as do yours.........have those colors.

  12. i can't believe they let you rally cross it.did they not know you had a "lift" in it?don't get me wrong,it obviously handles it well, but i thought that was in the rules somewhere. otherwise,do you need help at your shop?:grin:cheers, brian

  17. this is her.this is her backside....pretty hot huh? here she is again... mods: 235/75/15 hankooks ej22-carbie 5spd d/r samurai t-case with 6.5:1 gears 4.44 diff ratios subframe w' lift custom radius rods a nip and tuck here and there.should be fun.will be to the testing stage soon.then tear her all down and paint everything. hope you enjoy.oh and by the way, this weekend she will get radius rodded.....although she is a roller now:banana:cheers, brian
  18. unless you are into tuning your car,and are ABLE to tune your car i would stick with fuel injection.it is just easier to deal with for most people.cheers, brian
  19. i was looking at getting some sort of sleeve with bearing in it to go over the axle itself(cut in half)...then using big rump roast cotter pins, or heavy duty bolts to "lock" it...but i never got around to it.seemed simple enough to think about, but i did not go any further.cheers, brian edit: actually i just looked at the link above, and that is about what i came up with.......only it would take 2 bearings on one side around the axle shaft......
  20. depends on what you wish to do.the only thing a larger lift on a stock rig does for you is bigger tires.and you will not want to big of tires, the average is 28"....it is all about the gearing.cheers, brian
  21. get 'em...... by the way, this post will probably me moved.there are different areas of the forum for different things.this technically goes in the meet and greet section i think. no offroad verbage.plans are one thing, but cold hard facts are another.cheers, brian

  23. i know, i AM slow....but here we go..... time to mock things up...engine crossmember worked out well...... i used the 6" strut extensions to mock it up with and make it rollable.........that will change too gotta look at the stock axle angle in the next couple of days.....take that bracket off,buy a bushing and make a new mount. i will work on the links in the meantime.should be fun.would like to be able to make it rollable by the end of this weekend.so that i can get the wagon in its spot and switch out trannies. anyways, theres an update for ya.....cheers, brian
  24. arb manufactured one at one point.but no more, at least not available in the US anymore...would have to find one used.cheers, brian
  25. you just said it,in a different way than i did?huh....... and it is possible to get a locker for the r180....they are just out of production.if someone had one lyin around.that would be easy too.......so it is not the ONLY way. everything can be easier with money....cheers, brian
