  1. just remember.everything happens for a reason.although sad, celebrate his life....i am betting he would have wanted it that way. keep your chin up,keep your mind occupied and it will eventually hurt less and less as time goes by. besides , when we leave here we go to a helluva better place.cheers, brian
  2. if you read it,the statement is preceded by"its funny because"..............meaning i was not giving him info,i was simply comparing.thanks for your analy intuitive interjection though.its people like you that keep me on my toes.:rolleyes:sorry lostintha......cheers, brian
  3. i did mine for safeties sake.just in case i guess.plus it looks alot cleaner under the hood. the pipes getting crimped is a whole other issue.i usually found something to plug the holes with as opposed to crimping them as well.usually i take the fitting out and cut the pipe completely out of it,then fill it with jbweld.cleaner look as well.i do the same with my ac outlet/inlets at the fire wall. cheers, brian
  4. its funny because when they ask that about gen2's they are asking about carb vs. f.i. or 2wd/4wd......
  5. get ahold of edrach.......he has some type of claim on an ea81 vehicle that has been going on for a while now.whatever he has it is lots and lots of information.cheers, brain
  6. you could have a rub on your driveline...........cheers, brian
  7. except there are no pics in that usrm post........yet........several people have done this....i bet mcbrat(mick) has some photos floating around.cheers, brain
  8. your not the first, and won't be the last. i have been tossing an idea around about 4 linking the rear of an ea81 hatch.......using coilovers and negating the torsion bar,or 4 linking the torsion bar and getting mad flex out of all of it with a solid "acting piece like hti is talking about..........
  9. youcould also just grind grooves into stub axles from an earlier model anbd mate them that way using circlips like the actual axles do.......cheers, brian
  10. i would put a plate over it.and have several times i made a very thick rubber gasket out of a coolant hose to go under it.....then peened it with the 16oz'er to bend over the edges and get a good seal.......cheers, brain
  11. as odd as it sounds,i had a boss with a late 90s truck that had to have the wiring harness"fluffed"...........it seemed that it was losing power continuously.....they took the engine wiing harness loose and seperated all of the wires, added some insulation to them, and it never had the problem again..... it was a heating up issue.there was no burn through on any of the wires, but the heat was not dissipating properly through the loom.so it was breeding gremlins. i dunno, sounds odd,but everything worked for a long time after that.still is.cheers, brain
  12. so i am trying to do some research on this tranny. basically i would like to come up with some diagrams of this tranny from FSM's.all aspect ratios preferably. i need to know how it all fits together.does it have a removable bellhousing?etc......cheers, brian
  13. never did it.and i had an 86 brat.i went with what you have now jason.i liked it better.if you can find one of the independent grills out there it could be grafted to the existing piece. or you could just cut a hole ,like the man said.cheers, brian
  14. from what i gather.......the older nissan cars had some pretty burly axles from what i hear.and the driveline might even match up. an isuzu rear axle out of an early truck might work.ken did that.i dunno,i say figure out u joints for the rear axles, and put a solid axle up front.thats where the real limitations are. cheers, brian
  15. since the car is getting a second t-case i need to be able to keep the engine/tranny at stock height sos i can stuff a diff. up front underneath them.there are more pics on photobucket.cheers, brain oh yeah, the single long piece is 3/8ths,the L bracket is 1/4 in.......
  16. here are a few pics of the work i got done today..... comparison shot^ off the motor.......^ on the motor^..... welder works good with the right settings.gotta move more snow tomorrow, so that i can get to the car and start the templates to mount to the frame rails.cheers, brian more pics
  17. i have mounted an 80's escort dizzy onto an ej22 before.i am not familiar with ea82's so i dunno.cheers, brian
  18. thats a broken u-joint.should cost about 20 bucks. but you may be able to pick up an entire driveline for that from the junkyard.just measure yours and find the appropriate vehicle then pull it.it is merely 4 (12mm) bolts at the rear differential.you'll need two 12mm wrenches. by appropriate vehicle i mean one that has the same tranny setup obviously.the measuring is to keep you from having to pull one then find out that it is wrong.cheers, brian
  19. :drunk::drunk::drunk:chrsee./l,nrbia:grin:
  20. ditto, that diff would have to be empty, had a cat stuffed in it,and using a loud speaker to get that loud without locking up.cheers, brian
  21. the funny thing is,the only attribute that not having good electrical service gives me is not being able to weld continuous for hours........:lol:so, i do not worry about burning it up. and lincoln has a 3 yr manufacturers warranty,so regardless ifyou won it or not,you should call them and get another one.cheers, brian
  22. okidoki.......so this will be the last post to this thread.i am going to start an actual fab/build thread now.because i went out today and got this...........its on ***************es....... she is so pretty......best i could get for 120v.....................(that i could afford, and it wasn't cheap) with her new cart... i will pop her cherry tomorrow.it will be nice to have her around .i switched out the downstairs breaker from a 15a to a 20a so hopefully it helps. my ol'lady is off 'til next week , so i can at least see what it can do.the goal is to get the crossmember made.tomorrow i think i will make a gift for the woman.don't know what yet. more pics cheers, brian
  23. wait, maybe that was something else.damn dude,i just don't get it....... i thought i remembered having a grounding issue with those when i first got them mounted.and then i taped the inside of the metal rings holding the actual headlamp bezel so that it could not ground anymore.i searched for a thread , but did not turn anything up.just when i posted them after being done.........damn.
  24. DOH!!!try an see if the electrical tape is still on the chrome rings holding it to the bucket..... i do remember having to negate a ground issue.that is all i can think of though. cheers, brian
