  1. That dose not look like a ea82 throtle body so probably not subaru
  2. I would try to put a new belt on it and see how it runs then do a comprestion test i had a cam shaft snap off at the pully and when i tore it down the valves were all good so theres a chance there good still if not valves are cheap from the dealer and only replace whats bent its also a good.exscuse to have some fun with the internals while its all apart
  3. Theres a guy who make custom bell housings he made the ej to toyota trans bell housing you might even be able to use that one or maybe he will make one for you his site is http://www.billsautofab.com/projects/ he is also on this board good luck and make sure to share what ever you find
  4. 6 Lug rims are everywere cheap for your dissy turn it full advance and back off about a 1/8 and you should be in the sweet spot if you can run full advance with out pinning then go for it its ok as long as your not pinging if your still getting that miss do a full tune up make sure there arent any vacume leaks check your intake bolts make sure nothing is loose make sure your grounds to the body and the engine are good you should have a few different grounds on the body from the motor and from the battery to the body and battery to motor and there should be one directly to the altornator a bad ground can cause sensors to go haywire
  5. Wouldent it be easyer to use longer struts i would think it would be stronger too
  6. Great if you treat them right i just did.some work on one for a freind and it gets driven all over the state through the sierras snow sand mud down to the beach at sea leval there fun still they have the same limitations that all ea82 have there gutless and problematic but if you can take care of them and there little whinnie issues and you like to fix things there great engines
  7. I Have no idea what there part # is its off a second gen 300zx that was abandoned on my property when i bought my house i stripped everything i thought i might be able to use except the rear diff and the struts were a perfict match to the fwd model rear struts off my rig so i used them i had to change the lower busshings and top hats over but no big deal unlike the 4runner struts you still have full traval and a 5/8 shaft and also the valving of a heavy high performance strut vs a econobox strut i still blew them out in the woops though but atleast they dident bend and break like the stock ones did 20+ miles out in the middle of johnson valley
  8. if its has a single port fuel injection it can only be the ea82 system all other roo motors ether had multi port injection or a carb the motor its on dosent mater if its a subaru system and spfi than it has to be from the ea82 and they all used the same injectors but unless there are pic its just a guess not real with out pics lol
  9. Oh. That sounds like a great combo for a turbo
  10. If i remeber right the new struts for the rear have 2 positions and the perch can move up and down to acomidate fwd and rwd cars im not useing stock struts anymore im running 1990 300zx front struts on the rear with stock springs same as the fwd struts just a thicker stronger shaft
  11. The right strut is what ever strut kyb is listing as the right strut it.dosent mater if its fwd or 4wd on the front
  12. So are you saying you have a high compresion ea82 with a turbo and running on propain iteresting more info please
  13. If you drive on 3 cyclinders tbe dead cyclinder will eat its rod bearings over time if it was a valve issue like not opening then it would still have compresion there might be something stuck in the valve holding it open but most.likely its your rings the #3 cyclinder gets its oil last and can heat up faster than the other ones and its likely that piston got hot and siezed in its boar breaking or colapsing the rings it happen to vw engines all the time if thats the case the cylinder boar might be damaged the right thing to do is toss the motor or boar it out however you.could cheap out and just hone the cyclinder and replace the rings and maybe the piston im sure some one has one laying around not the end of the world but its alot of labor i say park it or find a new motor and run that one till it wont lol
  14. Theres a company making rebuild kits for them there around 300 clegs i think there on ebay you can get over sized pistons to but you still have all the other issues that come with a ea82t on the up.side there fun when they run
  15. Quick vid of a reused silicone boot on a exploded cv joint notice when the boot pops off all the pieces of the cage although this boot is toast look at how strong it is and its just ziptied on the boot was all that held the axle in place alowing me to continue driving on it till i got home Silicone cv axle boot:
  16. Its sounding like a massive vacume leak but a leak that bignwould.be visable also if the lifters arent pumping up it wont open the valves so it needs alittle oil presure to fire up it might have sat long enuff for the oil to drain out of the lifters and they have colapsed if its easy enuff to pop the valve covers you should be able to see whats up if tbe lifte4s move by hand than more than likly theres no oil presure you would also be able to see a stuck valve you could try spinning the oil pump by hand and see if it helps there arent alot of reasons the cylinder wont pull fuel in to the cylinders a rats nest maybe if puting fuel in the intake dosent pop it off but fuel in the cylinder dose your valves arent opening or the intake is blocked of your getting air from a outside sorce if it.were me i would get a few good batterys and spin the hell out of it while hitting it with starting fluid the lifters should pump up if theres oil in it lol
  17. The covers are the hardest part of the job once there out of the way the next hardest part is the altornator ac and powersteering belts ive changed my timing belts while burried in a mud hole at midnight in the dark in the middle of the desert 20 miles from the house with no tools i had to redo them once i hit.pavement and again when it was daylight and above freezing and i was at my house point being there easy to do and almost imposible to hurt anything if you get it wrong
  18. Those look like the ones i got i dont remeber who the seller was it was a long time ago but i.seem to remeber they were in california there pricy as a pack but per boot its cheap and treated right will outlast the axle the color however will fade and if you get grease on the outside it turns black even when using blue synthetic greese so if you like the color make sure everything stays very clean
  19. It sounds like you have a bad coil one low cylinder wont make it not run i drove one around on3 cylinders for a while even pulled a trailer with another loyale on the back of it just woundering if you tryed puting oil in the cylinder to see if it will raise the compresion also what cyclinder is low you might just need some rings
  20. I got 1000000 miles out of a 2 piece silicone repair boot on my imprezza that took more time for the glue to dry than to install it might be worth a try you can get them at most auto parts stores and dont have to pull the axle might even get away with warentying it after that
  21. You can and i have but like any boot if you put a stick through or pinch it they leak my last boot had several pin holes in it after the joint failed the boot is all that is holding the axle together and will still hold greese but the pin holes still lets the greese leak out but still keeps.dirt out and wont tear or fail i exploded a axle on the trail when i rebuild it with what parts.i had laying around i reused the boots and they were just fine untill my welded rear end ate the axle i still have th3 boots but im not gona reuse them except.maybe on a spare or something im sure i can seal the pin holes if i needed to but i dont so unless you phisicly damage the boot they will outlast the axles i had the same issues the sand.and grime would ware through the boots in no time and another +is silicone isent affected by heat like rubber so the cat wont hurt them use good greese and any axle will give decent service but remeber once you mod a part.like a axle.the warrenty goes out the window
  22. They come in all kinds of colors to i used blue to match my car lol
