in my very limited exsperiance with the 4eat in the sand i say they suck butt for offroading i went through 3 tanks of gas in a week in a 2.2 swaped forester with 444:1 gears and a 4eat in the sand my loyale with a duel range same place and more driving it only burned 1/2 tank the auto would get hot and boil the fluid out on to the exaust and make one hell of a smoke screen when pushed to hard in my opinion the 4eat would need alot of work just to hold up off road

That winch is heavy its as heavy as the engine its self but i have the progresive ac delco tempo springs so when the winch is on it rides in the stiffer spring rate but with the winch off it rides in the softer spring so it still rides good with the winch on or off however the front wants to wash out when hitting the corners to fast but hay thats one of the reasons its removable i dont have any more plans for the car as far as mods i might ej its some day but the ea82 seems strong enuff it is my daily driver weekend warrior and im loving it as it is for now i have a new subi project im slowly tinkering with that will pick up where this one left off

Out side of cutting in the leds in to the bummper nothing changed ive done a bunch of custom engine work porting pollishing shaving bla bla blas that little ea82 is pulling strong you like my side wall patch huh its still on the car for more than 2 years i run about 80 on the freeway it is on the back of the car now i dont think its even leagle but i know for sure its not weak the plugs all 3 are as strong as the rest of the tire what you cant see is the other 3 or 4 holes in the side wall that are sealed with fix a flat my first job in the automotive world was in at a goodyear tire store way back when want to talk about crazy spoob we did there one time we rebuilt a side wall of a tire it had a 4 inch hole in the sidewall from a pipe it looked fine and lasted as long as the other tires did ballenced out to ive personaly done crazy tire spoob like mounting racing slicks on my wheeler just for fun at one point in time i had 235/60/14 on front with 33/12.50/15 on the back on a ford ranger wheeler just because i could im not afraid of tire plugs used right they never fail even with a 1 inch gash in the side wall i know a tire store cant sell a tire with a plug in it because most people dont understand how they work or how to use them properly and because of that alot of plugs fail i have new tires but im finnishing these off there almost bald now and after 2 years of wheelin towing boats and cars over loading jumpin high speed runs through the santa cruz mountains long highway trips at over 80mph even trough long turns while overloaded after 2 years of abuse i havent even put air in that tire exsept after leting it out to go wheelin the plugs in that tire arent going anywere but hey ive been installing tire plugs for over 25 years now with not one failure thats got to be worth somethin ill update the bumper pics with the lights installed asap

Why not link it since your doing all that work

That sonds like a ignition coil failure between the 98 outback and 2000 imp and the 2000 forester have all had there coils fail only one cylender failed and would throw a po301 - po304 i wouldent suspect the injector unless you have been driving in mexico or are running with out a fuel filter more than likely its something simple like a plug fouled out or a plug wire isent all the way on or bad could be a vacume leak also go some where else and get a second opinion

Ive started moving on to a butifull piece of property that hasent been used in years the entire property is covered in weeds about 8ft high so that was my starting point i hooked up a 100lb 7'x10' drag behind the subi and started clearing its doing a good job and is comfertable sitting inside with the windows up and ac on and radio bumpin the property ranges from hard pack to soft sand to straight up mud and a large rocky areas neer the creek a few small hill climbs and some good flats i found a large concrete pilling in the middle of the field the skid plate took the hit nice we got a 2500 chevy truck stuck in the sand the suby pulled it out and when he hit the brakes i drug him another 100ft And a short vidieo note best watched with the volume off the comentary is alittle corny

Those light bars are so bright almost too bright they are sweet but i realy dont need that kinda light and i was afraid it would interfere with the surfboard racks if i put it on the roof and it would be blocked by the winch if it was on the bumper ive had 2 little 25w incandesent lights on my bumper for a while recently ive added 8 9w 3"round leds at about 110 lumes 4 in the bumper and 4 mounted on my winch there all flood lights there as bright as my headlights but dont have the throw maybe 100 ft of light they sure look cool and the blueish light realy nice when mixed with the orange light of the headlights
-
Any luck on this what kinda fab skills do ya have any idea on what style your looking for do you want a full bumper or just a light bar if your ever down in the bay area i might be able to help

Ya those are the ones i only packed the barrings and the splines with as much greese as i could i only scooped a 2 finger glob in the boots i dont think i over filled them they should be fine
-

-
I was woundering why they only lasted a couple of months I want to send the picturs to orealy and see what they say i knew going into it that there poor quality but i hoped there was something to work with but with the splines as loose as they are i question if there even worth rebooting oh well i guess ill find out

Ok i took the brand new axel apart to put my new silicone boots on and there was no grease in the joint at all bone dry just a small dab in the bottom of the cup that never made it close to the bearings I greased them up real good put my boots on and instaled them the only ither problem i couldent fix was the slop in the splines i tryed packing as much grease in there as i could but we will see
